- (Anne) MOCKTAIL HAPPY HOUR (see other Eventbrite link)
Barbara Douglass teaches a vinyasa flow, moving with the breath and using sun salutations to build gentle heat. We use that heat to deeply stretch, and we end with a relaxing meditation.
Jeneen Piccuirro teaches a gentle, traditional, chakra based hatha yoga class. Her focus is on deep release and relaxation and she favors poses that benefit the nervous system to promote inner calm.
Becky Super teaches a Vinyasa style class that welcomes new and experienced students to find balance both on and off the mat. I like a faster paced class, but I know the importance of slowing down to find relaxation and meditation too.
Barb Mink earned her 200-hr yoga teacher (RYT) certification in 2018 in the vinyasa format. She’s been practicing for 20* Years and has attended numerous workshops and yoga retreats.
Anne teaches a vinyasa style flow class. Flows are designed to be equal parts meditative and fun. Classes are appropriate for students of all levels and appropriate modifications and amplifications are offered.
Angie’s classes are a Vinyasa Flow style of Yoga. Vinyasa means “to move with the breath” and in Angie’s classes, the poses are strung together to form one fluid sequence of movement. Moving with your breath, and letting your body flow in new directions, is powerful and nurturing. Angie’s classes focus on connecting the physical movements with the rhythm of the breath while maintaining an awareness of the mindful transitions from one pose to another while also taking time to enjoy each pose in whatever way feels best for each individual body. Each student is invited to make their Vinyasa flow a personal experience to meet their body’s needs. Pose flows can be fast and physically challenging or soft and gentle, a moving meditation, and an opportunity to witness the ways in which the breath holds power over our well-being. The class ends with time in deep relaxation. No prior Yoga experience is necessary and all levels of practice are welcome.

IN STUDIO - Sleek Whites | Helen Olivia Flowers
Jul 9, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Alexandria A
We’re so happy to have you in flower class!
You'll learn the basics of design from one of our seasoned floral designers.
Here’s what you need to know:
Each class revolves around a theme or type of flower. For example, ‘Peonies’ or ‘Jewel Toned Blooms’. The images on our website are representative of what a design might look like, but are not exact. In order to get you the most product, we hold off on ordering until a week before class to see what is available at the best price from our wholesalers. In classes that revolve around a certain flower, such as peonies, you can expect to be making a mixed bouquet highlighting that flower.
For our IN STUDIO workshops:
Each class comes with a bucket full of blooms. We account for breakage and loss in our formulas, so please understand that if you happen to have one or two unusable blooms, there are still more than enough blooms to fill out your arrangement.
You will also be provided with your vase, clippers, a list of included blooms, and any hard goods you may need.
If something comes up and you are no longer able to take the class, please give us 7 days notice. We’re happy to transfer you into any future workshop or provide a refund. If we are notified less than seven days in advance we may not be able to provide a refund.
When parking at the studio, there is street parking, and a small lot down the street that are both free to use and available for attendees
Studio doors will open 15 minutes prior to arrival
Our workshop space is a cozy fit, so we are unable to accomodate any additional guests who have not purchased a ticket, and unfortunately at this time, children aren't invited to attend.
Workshops are an hour to 90 minutes in length - after class is over, we ask that you depart in a timely fashion so our instructor can head home and rest before work the following day.
PLEASE NOTE. This is an IN-STUDIO WORKSHOP, starting at 6:30 pm at our studio location in Alexandria, VA. This is not a virtual workshop and no recordings will be available.
Cheers to a lovely flower class together!

Jane Austen Tea Party: Emma | Old Town Books
Jul 13, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Alexandria A
Are you a grown-up who misses summer reading? We’ve got the pop-up reading group for you! A reading group is a little more structured than a book club, but way more relaxed than a class.
This summer, we’re hosting three Austen Tea Parties, tackling one Jane Austen novel each month while nibbling on tea & cookies, and maybe even breaking out our favorite fancy hats. Whether you’re a long-time Austen fan like Leah, or you somehow missed Austen in school like Nicole, our co-leaders are excited to lead discussions on these classics to celebrate Jane’s 250th birthday this year!
We’ll be discussing:
Pride & Prejudice
on Sunday, June 1
Emma
on Sunday, July 13
Persuasion
on Sunday, August 24
All sessions start at tea time, aka 4pm! You can attend just one or two sessions, but you’ll get the most out of attending all three so we can explore the themes common across all three books.
Each session is $10 to cover our tea & nibbles. While buying the book at OTB is not required, we have both standard & annotated editions available in store or online with a 10% discount if you mention “reading group”!

Tea Please: Mocktail & Sugar Rim Making w/ Farm & Muse | Shop Made in VA - Old Town Alexandria
Jul 27, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Alexandria A
CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Nothing says summer like mouthwatering mocktails made from scratch! Come toast to fun in the sun by exploring flavor profiles, pairings and mixing techniques that bring fresh-made mocktails and beverage rimmers to life.
In this instructor-led class, you will journey through a hands-on experience designing mocktails and rimmers from a variety of premium loose leaf teas, zero-proof mixes, fruit, herbs, spices and more.
Participants will sample different types of teas and each guest will make their own loose leaf tea and sugar rim mix to continue the summer fun at home.
This upbeat and interactive class delivers all the hot weather vibes you crave!
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
As an avid traveler, I find endless inspiration in the diverse flavors and aromas from around the world. From savoring paella in Madrid to enjoying Chilean street food, being captivated by the vibrant farmer's markets in Sao Paulo, and tasting freshly made pide in Kusadasi, these incredible experiences have shown me that food truly is a universal language we all speak.
While I officially founded Farm + Muse in 2020, its foundation comes from generations of my family who lived on farms in the South. They cultivated their own food, cared for the land, and cooked everything from scratch.
Farm + Muse is a way to share those deeply rich and soulful flavors through thoughtfully created collections that are both boldly delicious and easy to use. With our delightful array of nature-approved tea and spice blends, my goal is to connect people with food in vibrant, fun, and flavorful ways.
