The Friends of Mount Vernon Trail will be improving the trail near the old power plant in Alexandria. We will be removing invasive kudzu vines that are killing nearby trees and constantly growing over the trail. Volunteers may perform some of the following work: Using pruners and loppers to remove invasive vines Hauling away vegetation and fallen tree branches What to Bring: Water Gloves (We'll have some to borrow) Long sleeves and long pants Where to Meet: The work area is on the Mount Vernon Trail just north of Old Town. In order to get you the most product, we hold off on ordering until a week before class to see what is available at the best price from our wholesalers. In classes that revolve around a certain flower, such as peonies, you can expect to be making a mixed bouquet highlighting that flower. For our IN STUDIO workshops: Each class comes with a bucket full of blooms. We account for breakage and loss in our formulas, so please understand that if you happen to have one or two unusable blooms, there are still more than enough blooms to fill out your arrangement. You will also be provided with your vase, clippers, a list of included blooms, and any hard goods you may need. If something comes up and you are no longer able to take the class, please give us 7 days notice. We’re happy to transfer you into any future workshop or provide a refund.
