Echoes of the Ancestors: An Evening of Earth Wisdom and Sacred Sound | The Innovation Centre
May 25, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
Kelowna
In a world unraveling at the edges, many of us long for something real—connection, clarity, and a sense of home within ourselves.
This evening is an invitation to ground. To listen deeply. To remember.
Elder Ron Dewhurst and sonic alchemist Matthew Kocel offer a sacred gathering - where ancient wisdom meets healing vibration, and community becomes a vessel for transformation.
Through stories from the heart and music of the soul, Ron and Matthew offer a shared space to reconnect with your inner knowing, the Earth beneath your feet, and the light that guides us forward.
___________
Ron Dewhurst: The Elder
Ron Dewhurst has been an ecological and cultural change warrior since the 1970s, walking in partnership with spirit plants, allies, and ancestral wisdom.
He founded one of the largest tropical rainforest conservation projects in the world—combining ecological protection with regenerative, sustainable business practices to halt deforestation and protect biodiversity.
Ron has also served as an eco-consultant for the “Better in Belize” community, a visionary project rooted in sustainable living and Earth stewardship.
Today, his work is deeply intertwined with Indigenous peacekeepers, prophecy holders, and storytellers, as he helps kindle the sacred flame of the
Eighth Fire
—a powerful prophecy of global healing and reconnection with Mother Earth.
__________
Matthew Kocel: The Sonic Alchemist
Matthew Kocel is an internationally acclaimed throat singer and sonic mystic with over 40 years of experience as a performer, recording artist, and healing arts practitioner.
Known as the
Cosmic Throat Singer
, Matthew’s mission is to help heal the separation between humanity, the Earth, and the infinite cosmos within.
He has released three albums, toured extensively around the world, and his music is featured in Dr. Joe Dispenza’s guided meditations and retreats.
His voice is a
bridge between worlds
- ancient and otherworldly, resonating through the body like cellular memories.
Echoing the timeless tones of creation itself, Matthew’s music elicits an experience often compared to plant medicine journeys - without the need for substances.
The evening will conclude with a powerful live performance of Matthew’s transformational, all-acoustic sound journey.
No electronics are needed when the sound itself becomes the portal.
“Matthew Kocel’s music is so primal, so rich and brilliantly soulful…it touches us on a deep level that opens our hearts.”
- Dr. Joe Dispenza

Forgiveness Frequency | 2279 Benvoulin Rd
May 28, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
Kelowna
Wed, May 28th | 6:30 – 7:45 PM
2279 Benvoulin Rd, Kelowna
There’s a weight we carry when forgiveness hasn’t fully landed in our body & mind, one that speaks through tension in our chest, the tightness in our throat, reactive behaviors towards certain people & experiences or the loop of negative thoughts we can’t seem to quiet.
This evening is an invitation to lay that weight down for good.
As you step into the soft, grounding beauty of Benvoulin Heritage, you’ll be welcomed into a cocoon of safety & presence. The warmth of community co-regulating beside you is where we begin.
This experience is not for bypassing pain or forcing release. This is a safe container where you will make contact with the parts of you that are still holding on, whether it be grief, sadness, betrayal, anger, or the ache of not understanding why. Karlee will guide you inward with breath, awareness, intention, sensation, & connection to your body, mind, & to Earth Mother, & Creator.
You’ll be led through a channeled forgiveness ceremony, a sacred journey Karlee has previously only offered in intimate one-on-one sessions & is now opened for the collective. With community, our healing is amplified. This is unlike any other sound bath you have ever experienced before. With her guidance, sound medicine instruments, vocal activations, & light language, you’ll move through & clear old emotional debris & reclaim your authenticity, softer, clearer, & more whole.
This is a full-sensory experience designed to somatically process what’s been stuck, release what no longer belongs, & make space to receive your desires.
We’ll complete the evening in quiet integration, allowing space for stillness, reflection, & resonance to integrate in your nervous system.
Come exactly as you are with no expectations, just an open heart & the willingness to feel.
Tickets are $44 per person & all are welcome no matter your experience or circumstances.
Bring an eye mask (if you perfer darkness), yoga mat (or blanket), blanket (or extra layers), pillow, journal (optional), & water or tea.
Save your sacred space by registering through Eventbrite, Karlee's website, or skip the fees & e-transfer $46.20 (taxes included) to karlee@karleerosewelder.com Please state which event you are attending in the memo area.

The Future of Green Buildings in the Okanagan | BNA Brewing Kelowna
May 28, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
Kelowna
The Okanagan has firsthand experience with the damaging consequences of climate change - from record precipitation and historic floods to extreme heat and devastating wildfires. Yet, in Kelowna, GHG emissions continue to rise. Buildings currently account for about 38% of overall community emissions, not including embodied carbon. As climate risk continues to shape insurance, financing, public expectations and government policies, low-carbon and resilient buildings are becoming more and more necessary. A growing green building community in the Okanagan is adapting to this new reality despite economic uncertainty and rising construction costs. Building low-carbon and resilient buildings is a key ingredient to building better communities, but this is easier said than done. It’s important that we acknowledge the challenges and create space for collective action to overcome them.
Join the ZEBx, B2E and CLF BC Program Managers at BNA Brewing in Kelowna as they discuss the Okanagan's challenges, lessons learned and success stories of building decarbonization with RJC Engineers, a consulting engineering firm with deep roots in the Okanagan. It will be a late afternoon event with a lively audience-driven panel discussion, preceded and followed by ample time for socializing and networking. Together, we’ll explore cost-effective solutions to real-world constraints and how we can deliver more great buildings that last.
The ticket includes food and beverages.
