Hallé Musical Stars is a fun and interactive music-making session for pre-school aged children and their grown ups. Join one of our experienced Hallé practitioners for a weekly music session which will include sensory play, singing, musical games and activities, and the chance to play musical instruments. Hallé Musical Stars is split into two groups: Babies - from 3 months until walking Toddlers - from walking until age 4 Classes take place on Monday mornings at Hallé St Michael's in Ancoats, and are limited in size to ensure everyone has a memorable experience. Each session is 45 minutes long with time after to have a cup of tea and meet the other families. *please note the session on Monday 30th March will take place at Hallé St Peter's in Ancoats, M4 6BF. Keynote Speaker Our keynote speaker for the event will beMelanie O’Brien, manager of the national program that administers the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). O'Brien also serves as the Designated Federal Officer to the NAGPRA Review Committee. Bio Melanie O’Brien is the manager of the national program that administers the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). Since its passage in 1990, NAGPRA has addressed the protection and repatriation of Native American human remains and cultural items. Ms. O’Brien is responsible for certain responsibilities delegated to the National NAGPRA Program by the Secretary of the Interior. Ms. O’Brien also serves as the Designated Federal Officer to the NAGPRA Review Committee. Ms. O’Brien joined the National NAGPRA Program in 2012 as the notice coordinator, responsible for publishing notices and providing technical assistance to museums and Federal agencies. As the program manager, Ms. O’Brien hopes to raise the level of productive discourse about NAGPRA and to support the many people who are working so diligently to implement the letter and the spirit of the law. Ms. O’Brien has worked to build productive and supportive relationships with all NAGPRA constituents. The NEXT Festival showcases the talents and scholarship of graduating Corcoran students.
