Join us for a bird-watching experience through the Weaselhead and North Glenmore Park to celebrate the return of our summer birds! We will wander above the Weaselhead and over to the reservoir to see what birds are returning to our wetlands. Introduction to Wood Burning (Pyrography) for Beginners Learn something new and have fun during this hands on workshop. This small class is perfect for those who are new to wood burning and want to explore the art of pyrography. This is also a good opportunity to try the Razer Tip Woodburning tool before you buy one. You will learn step by step how to create a wood burned work of art. Little art experience is necessary just some time and patience. There is something very soothing and relaxing about burning patterns into wood. You will learn how to use the wood-burner safely. We will go over the difference between the wood burning tools that are available. You will learn how to transfer your drawing onto the wood, which wood works best, and how to add a bit of colour. Wood is supplied and the tool that we use is the Razer Tip woodburning system. Feel free to bring your own reference material to trace or draw from or use templates provided. Some people freehand and just go for it and some people use reference material and trace their design.
