Jimmy Carr: Laughs Funny | College Street Music Hall
Jun 24, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
New Haven
This event is Fully Reserved Seated on the Floor, and in the Balcony.
There is a strict 10-ticket limit on this show.
If you like fast-paced, edgy one-liners then get ready to be happy. Jimmy Carr is going back on tour with his brand-new show ‘Jimmy Carr: Laughs Funny’.
Jimmy tells jokes, and jokes are like magnets.
Jokes attract people, but they can also repel.
Some people are repelled by Jimmy's dark brand of comedy. This show is not for them.
But if it's the kind of thing you like, then this is the kind of thing you’ll like.
JIMMY CARR
One of the biggest-selling comedy acts in the world, Jimmy consistently performs stand-up to sell-out crowds across the globe. At the latest count he has taken tour shows to over forty different countries and his last world tour, Terribly Funny, sold over 1.2 million tickets globally.
Jimmy Carr: Laughs Funny will extend his reach even further and marks the first time this record-breaking comedian has toured in arenas in the UK and Ireland.
Jimmy is a household name in UK television, well known for hosting Channel 4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Big Fat Quiz Of The Year in addition to presenting Comedy Central’s Roast Battle UK and Your Face Or Mine. He is a regular on all the top panel shows, including QI and A League Of Their Own, has performed as part of The Royal Variety Performance three times, hosts Channel 4 gameshow I Literally Just Told You and in 2025 will also host Last One Laughing UK on Amazon Prime.
Jimmy is also a high-profile name in North America. He was the first UK comedian to sign a stand-up deal with streaming behemoth Netflix in 2015, releasing four specials on the platform, Funny Business (2016) and Best Of Ultimate Gold Greatest Hits (2017), His Dark Material (2021) and Natural Born Killer (2024). He also presented and exec-produced an original panel show format for Netflix, The Fix, and has been a guest multiple times on US staples such The Tonight Show, The Late, Late Show and Late Night With Conan O’Brien. He has performed at the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival since 2003 with more appearances than any other UK act in that time.
Before making the move to streaming, Jimmy was one of the bestselling acts in the comedy DVD market, his eight titles (Live, Stand-Up, Comedian, In Concert, Telling Jokes, Making People Laugh, Being Funny and Laughing & Joking) selling over 1.2 million copies between them. These shows are now all available on Jimmy’s YouTube channel, where he has accrued over 1.1 million subscribers and 436 million views since launching in 2018.
Jimmy is also a published author. He co-wrote The Naked Jape: Uncovering the Hidden World of Jokes in 2007 and his highly anticipated memoir Before & Laughter was released in September 2021, making The Sunday Times Bestsellers list.

REMI WOLF
Remi Wolf has remained steadfast in her position as pop’s most rule-shattering risk-taker. Since releasing her critically acclaimed 2021 full-length debut,
Juno
, the world has found it hard to look away from the irreverent, bold, and colorful star. She’s racked up over two billion global streams, had top billing at festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Outside Lands, and opened for artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, Lorde, and Paramore. Along the way, she’s collaborated with the likes of Nile Rodgers, Beck, Sylvan Esso, Dominic Fike, and more. This year, Remi is back with her latest album,
Big Ideas
, which was released on July 12th via Island Records. The album has garnered critical acclaim from Billboard, Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Vogue, Pitchfork, and many more.
Big Ideas
is an emotionally complex, funky project that reflects on her transient life on the road over the last few years. The album continues to push the boundaries of genre, seeing her challenge herself musically and lyrically with a mix of old and new collaborators, such as Jared Solomon, Ethan Gruska, Leon Michels, and the Dap-Kings, Carter Lang, among several others. In support of the new album, Remi made her debut performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert with a live rendition of “Cinderella” and performed the album’s focus track “Soup” on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and visited NPR's Tiny Desk for an intimate performance highlighting the new album. She has set off on her Big Ideas Tour, with stops including three sold-out nights at NYC's Kings Theatre and a sold-out night at The Greek Theatre in LA.

DANA & ALDEN
Brothers Dana and Alden McWayne, along with a troupe of multi-instrumental artists, come together to create jazzy melodies with indie sounds inspired by their unconventional upbringing in Eugene, Oregon.
Their debut album, Quiet Music for Young People, is an amalgamation of their childhood, melding memories of summer days spent working at an apple orchard, and rainy winter nights where they jammed at cozy jazz clubs. These retrospective moments are channeled through the lens of their wide- ranging influences, from Ahmad Jahmal to Big Thief to Bad Bunny.
Alden, the younger of the two, is a drummer and recent graduate of Berklee College of Music, while Dana, the elder statesmen, is a saxophonist and organic farm inspector in Durham, NC.

CT Public Film: Where Then Shall We Go? (2025) | Wilson Branch Library
May 6, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
New Haven
The unhoused community in New Haven is growing. The pandemic, rising housing costs, and inflation has led to an increase in people experiencing homelessness across the city. In 2022, a family in one of the city’s poorest neighborhoods opened up their backyard for people to live in, aspiring to create a self-governing community separate from the overburdened city shelter system. We follow the Rosette Neighborhood Village for nearly two years as they try to run a consensus-based governance model while navigating state and city zoning regulations, addiction, mental health issues, and basic survival. Witness stories of joy and strength amidst the hardships of homelessness as residents build a neighborhood and their future together.

Storytellers for Good | Celebrating Our 10th Brand Anniversary | The Narrative Project
May 22, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
New Haven
By now, you probably know the story.
In 2015
, we began as a grassroots community conversation platform—bringing people together across Connecticut to engage in brave dialogue and offer anti-bias and anti-racism workshops that challenged systems, sparked reflection, and built collective understanding.
Four years in, the work evolved.
We expanded our services to focus on strategic communications and public relations, launching a first-of-its-kind model for anti-racist public relations. It was bold. It was necessary. And it worked.
Now, a decade after we first took on the name "The Narrative Project", we’re still here—and stronger than ever.
Today, we offer anti-racist public relations consulting to mission-driven organizations not just in Connecticut but across the country. From community-based nonprofits to national coalitions, we've helped shape narratives rooted in equity and justice.
And we didn’t do any of it alone. Along the way, we’ve partnered with more than 100 incredible organizations—each one committed to building a more just and liberated world. These partnerships have shaped us, taught us, and reminded us that true change is always a collective effort.
So, to mark this milestone, we’re throwing a celebration—and you’re invited.
Join us at our New Haven office for an evening of cocktails, community, and storytelling as we honor the journey and the people who made it possible.
This is a free event, but we invite you to contribute. All proceeds will go directly toward supporting our mission and continuing the work we began 10 years ago.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you.
