The series draws inspiration from the tradition of the Madonna/Virgin Mary, a central figure in religious and artistic traditions. Baars depicts the Black Madonna with tears, symbolizing that vulnerability and emotional expression are not weaknesses but sources of strength and resilience. Her process is experimental and intuitive, allowing her to discover the outcome as she works. Don't miss this opportunity to witness the profound and captivating art of Ingrid Baars. The closing reception will take place at NYCH Gallery on October 21, 2023. Admission is free.
