Vancouver

Fine Art
Get your tintype portrait made using an antiquarian method called Wetplate Collodion Photography. This method of photography was invented by Frederick Scott in 1851, and the chemicals, formulas and techniques haven't changed in over 170 years! With Geoffrey Wallang as your guide, you will be intructed on how to sit, stand, or even how certain colours transform in the finished product. (Reds turns to black, blues turn to white). "For me, using this medium gives me a sense of purpose as it is very involved, slow and methodical... and at times, unpredictable." says Geoffrey. This process of photography is a real alchemical treat to behold and the end results seem magical. Each session takes 30mins, 10 mins for your picture to be taken and 20-25 mins for the tintype process to unfold. You will walk away with a beautiful 4"x5" tintype plate, with an option for an additional plate for an extra $150. Solo portraits, couples, families and pets are all welcome! Geoffrey is a champ at taking photos of beloved animal companions. Book your timeslot when you select your ticket. Tickets get you a photo session with Geoffrey AND entry to the Witches Bloom Market. Feel free to bring anything else you need to feel comfortable laying down for up to 45 minutes (head pillow, blanket, and eye covers etc) PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY. NO LATE ENTRY. ABOUT THE FACILITATOR: Angora is a trauma-informed somatic yoga specialist. After spending a decade over-focusing on flexibility —pushing past body limits and ignoring the body's natural cycles, she has alchemized her recovery from miltiple injuries and nervous system dysregulation into a way that is sustainable, pain-free, and actually makes anyone feel good. Soundbath and breathwork are integral part of her offerings because when the body is in Flight or Fight mode, there is NO WAY we can truly open up, gain flexibility and most importantly, truly heal from trauma and process suppressed emotions. Sophisticated Simplicity Our events offer a fresh alternative to speed dating and matchmaking. We don't find anything romantic about whistles, name-tags or over-the-top party trimmings typically found at singles events so we have done away with them. Creating an atmosphere that is at once casual and comfortable. It's what we call cheeky-chic! Meet a partner to attend concerts, music festivals, bar crawls or fitness classes. Someone who shares your passions and interests - from sports to yoga - all in a setting just your speed. - Our personable hosts will assist you with your MyCheekyDate 'Date-Mate' Scorecard. Flirty and fun, your Scorecard is just the beginning. Chat up our Hosts for tips or simply to ask, which direction the bar is in! After being shown to your table, the ladies will remain seated for the duration of the event. The gents move from lovely lady to lovely lady every six to seven minutes. Simply jot down your potential 'Date-Mates' at the bottom of your Scorecard and we'll take care of the rest. For those who garner matches, you will be notified via e-mail within 24 hours of the event ending of your 'Date-Mate' results. Alas, the event is over but the night has just begun. Feel free to stay as long as you would like to mingle further. All we need are the 'Date-Mate' Scorecards to determine if love is in the air for you.
