PULL MY GOLDFINGER | CARLOS SANDIN | SE15 1TR
Oct 30, 2024 (UTC+0)ENDED
London
Bond is dead. Craig's out. To revive the world’s most famous spy we must return to the very beginning. But who is brave enough? Who has the courage to bring Bond back? Known for his ethnically ambiguous bone structure and dynamic physicality, Carlos Sandin is bringing a Bond that obliterates all others. The new undercover hero we never knew we needed. A fresh take on a modern classic this show is for fans of the franchise, the uninitiated, or anyone who has ever wished Bond was just a bit... whackier. Expect action, live music, and multi-roling like you've never seen before. ‘Chokes you with absurdity until you finally surrender to the madness’ ★ ★ ★ ★ (West End Best Friend) ‘Sandin’s true undisputed talent as a clown performer is on full show’ ★ ★ ★ ★ (The Reviews Hub) ‘a seductive wingding of a play and a delight to behold and be held by.’ ★ ★ ★ ★ (North West End) ‘a very vague sense of narrative’ * (Everything Theatre)

Monster | Love | Melancholy | The Tabernacle
Oct 30, 2024 (UTC+0)ENDED
London
Monster | Love | Melancholy is an exploration of the human experience, examining the complex relationship between love, despair, and the inner monsters that inhabit us. This group exhibition of five artists investigates the cyclical forces shaping our emotional landscape, where clarity and confusion coexist in constant motion. Through a range of mediums—paintings, drawings, photography, poetry, and song—these artists from varied backgrounds and disciplines reveal the universality of this triad, uncovering its ancient roots and modern reconfigurations.
Hosting the exhibition at The Tabernacle, Notting Hill, a space once devoted to the sacred and now serving the secular needs of the local community, feels fitting. Whether through faith or reason, this triad offers a mirror to the fragility and and complexity of being human. We invite you to confront and contemplate the cyclical forces of Monster | Love | Melancholy. The seven artists featured, who worked in a spectrum of painterly modalities informed both by American Abstract Expressionism and European Modern art, were all drawn to the city in the years between 1948 and 1957. It was a time of renewed artistic energy in the City of Light, one which, while initially overshadowed by the concurrent rise of Abstract Expressionism in New York, had a major impact on the history of Modern art. Fading Echoes | Willesden Gallery - The Library @ Willesden Green
Oct 31, 2024 (UTC+0)ENDED
London
A Haunting Exploration of Absence and Memory Exhibition Dates 29th October - 9th November 2024 | Willesden Gallery
Private View: 31st October 2024 | 6 to 8 pm About the Exhibition Susanne Baumann presents her first solo exhibition: Fading Echoes - a poignant and thought-provoking collection of paintings, created between 2022 and now. She invites you to an intimate exploration of what makes someone present, and the silence
and empty spaces they leave behind when they are not. Fading Echoes is more than an exhibition; it is an intimate narrative of Baumann's personal odyssey through the labyrinth of grief and memory. The artist's father's 20-year long battle with Alzheimer's has left an indelible mark, shaping her in profound ways. This deeply personal struggle forms the core of Baumann's current work, as she endeavours to visually express the slow and heartbreaking process of witnessing a loved one slowly fade away. Baumann's art delves into her experience of absence - not just as a void but as a tangible presence. Her paintings evoke the quiet murmurs of memories; the remnants of a presence that lingers, long after the people we knew are gone. Each piece is an acknowledgement of the continuous passage of time and the way it erodes memory, identity, and our connections to those we love. “Fading Echoes” is driven by the question: What remains of us when we slowly but surely disappear - is it just echoes of ourselves? About the Artist Susanne Baumann is a German artist, currently based in London. She completed her Master's Degree in Painting at the Royal College of Art in 2023, having obtained a distinction in her Graduate Diploma there in Art & Design with a focus on Fine Arts in 2022. She has co-curated, organised, and participated in group exhibitions at numerous locations throughout London, including: D Contemporary, 4 Corners Gallery, Willesden Gallery, HSBC Head Quarters, Royal College of Art, Core Arts Gallery, Citizens Art London Gallery, and Safehouse 1&2. From September to November she shows work in Shanghai at Astra Art Gallery. She was longlisted for the Visual Art Open 2023 and has been granted a place in the Professional Development Program 2024 with new platform.art.

We have called this option 'Zombie'. *For folx who are unable to pay anything, please email us at ashrideslondon@gmail.com, there are a handful of no cost bikes available in every ride. There are a small number of bikes in every ride which are priced higher than the actual cost of the class. These are solidarity tickets which allow those with the means to do so to 'pay it forward' and subsidise the lower/no cost tickets. We have called these tickets 'Killer Queen'. (Please note we cannot offer refunds, but if you're unable to make it, let us know at least 48 hours ahead of the class and we'll do what we can to transfer your ticket to another Ash Rides London class, subject to availability)! THANK YOU :)

WTF Thursdays: Drawing From Life - An Art and Performance Workshop | Chisenhale Dance Space
Oct 31, 2024 (UTC+0)ENDED
London
This evening will be a dance-theater & life drawing workshop with a live sound score that will lead to an open jam at the end where participants are invited to interchangeably take part in drawing, witnessing, and/or exploring informal performance. As it falls on Halloween, we will get some inspiration from the spooky holiday we know today and from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. (yes, wear a costume if your guts say YES!) morgaine & Edward will facilitate the movement and theatre bits. Dilip will facilitate the life drawing bits. Participants are welcome to interchange between the two as they desire. All facilitation will focus broadly on the inner and outer self, improvisation, intuition, perspective, character, environment, and connection. About the Host: morgaine ann de leonardis (she/they) is a dyslexic irish-italian American artist working as a choreographer, movement director, facilitator, access practitioner, and performer. morgaine was born on lenapehoking, turtle island (colonially known as jersey city, nj usa). morgaine creates stage performance, site-specific, immersive, and film work. morgaine has been commissioned to make site-specific works for historic hotel lobbies and parks across Manhattan, New Jersey, and London. She premiered three evening length works: No Place Like Home, a dinner and dance-theater show for an audience of 23, let live: a dance opera on life and death, and Opening Reception, a gallery-specific piece. morgaine currently performs with The Missing Theater Company in Instructions on How To Be Alone (UK) and is slowly and softly working on UK based creations. As a performer she’s worked with KDV Dance Ensemble (Berlin), Third Rail Projects award winning immersive show, Then She Fell, and FX and Hulu’s immersive American Horror Story NYC shop (NYC/Lenape). morgaine co-facilitates Kinetic Light’s LAB, a virtual social and creative space for disabled artists. Instagram: @morgishborgg @edwardjcdavies @dilipsuracademy Accessibility: Audio description and BSL are both available upon request to morgaine at mdeleonardis1237@gmail.com. In this space you can tend to your needs, lounge, and witness or not witness at any time. Chairs and pillows will be throughout the space and a quiet space will be available. Please note, we are on the second floor of a warehouse building, accessed by a staircase only. We regret that we cannot currently adequately support wheelchair users and those for whom stairs are a barrier. We are committed to removing other barriers to access. If you would like to talk to us about your access needs, please contact: frances@chisenhaledancespace.co.uk. Read more about our commitments to anti-ableism as part of our Artist Community Culture Document WTF Thursdays: WTF Thursdays is a space creating possibilities for community-building amongst artists. Each evening, CDS hands over the keys to the building for an artist to host an event in the spirit of low-stakes, DIY action. If you would like to host an evening, check out our website for more info.
