The Further Explorations Workshop is for people who have already attended Fiona’s Intro to Monotype workshop (either here or somewhere else). The workshop will allow you time to delve deeper into what you've learned in the first workshop, using your own imagery and ideas, and to add a few more techniques to your belt, including chine colle and dry point. The day is structured but also allows time for exploring individual pursuits. The class is limited to 6 students, therefore a great deal of individual attention is given. The class takes place in a bright and welcoming studio in Stoke Newington, just south of Clissold Park on a residential street (access up two flights of stairs). 'The 13th Zodiac' by John Costi & Rhett NichollThe Swiss Church London presents ‘The 13th Zodiac’, a multimedia installation and live performance by long-time collaborators and 2024 residency recipients John Costi and Rhett Nicholl, AKA ‘EvilTwin’. They invite the audience to explore the intersections of art, trauma and healing, rewriting narratives of complex, toxic masculinity and scrutinising wider systems of societal oppression, including class and criminal justice systems. The title references both artists’ birthdays, which fall under Ophiuchus, the rarely acknowledged 13th sign of the Zodiac. Also known as the serpent bearer, a god of medicine and so adept in the art of healing, he could return souls from the underworld. This ability was learned from a snake on the river Styx, the main river leading to Hades.
