Join Emily Beaumont for the Introduction to Upholstery course on 18th November at Phoenix Art Space in Brighton. This one-day course is perfect for beginners who are interested in exploring the craft of upholstery. Emily combines modern and traditional techniques to teach you how to build a seat from the frame upwards. By the end of the day, you will have a finished piece to take home with you. The course covers the basics of modern upholstery, including the use of tools, webbing, hessian, foam, and fabric application. Most materials and tools will be provided, but please bring a 1m x 1m piece of fabric for the top cover. You can choose to bring your own dining chair or purchase a footstool frame from the tutor. Before attending, please email a photo of your chair to Emily for confirmation. Footstool orders should be placed at least two weeks ahead of the class date.
