Reginald “Reggio” McLaughlin is living tap history. He will share with us his own story and how it connects to many masters from the past. He has been honored by the National Endowment for the Arts as an NEA National Heritage Fellow, earned the Flo-Bert Award for achievements in tap dancing, and shared the stage with countless giants of Tap. McLaughlin will lead us through a portion of his impressive “Tap Dance Historical Archive,” painting a visual story of tap dancing’s legacy. He will present this uniquely American art form through videos, stories, and performance. She is vice chair of the board of directors of the Terra Foundation for American Art, a trustee of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the White House Historical Association, a member of the leadership board of the University of Michigan Museum of Art, and an ex-officio member of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities. She is a past president of the Association of Art Museum Directors (AAMD) and a past chair of the American Alliance of Museums (AAM). Feldman received an MA in art history from the Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London; an MA from the Institute of Archaeology at the University of London; and a BA, summa cum laude, in classical archaeology from the University of Michigan, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
