About this courseThis is a painting workshop with the goal of teaching people how to create paintings using either oil colors or acrylics. The total subject lessons consists of around 27 lessons that last 2.5 hours each. You can join at any time during the course. On each lesson the first part will be about theory and exercise and the second one about canvas time. Each participant will have the chance to work on canvas and start making paintings as artworks. All materials are provided by us. Each lesson has a subject. We do not follow a particular order, and every lesson is actually unique and many times personalized. This means that every time the attendess will have to do something new and different. You do not have to paint on canvas and with the mentioned art materials, you can also choose to use any of your wish. Most of the observations and exercises work well with all art materials. „Soft Focus“ ist das neue Album von Joel Sarakula. Produziert von Sarakula selbst und zwei von Shawn Lee produzierten Tracks, enthält es zwölf neue Tracks, die auf einer breiten Palette von Einflüssen aus den goldenen Zeitaltern des Softrocks und der Disco-Ära basieren. „Soft Focus“ enthält die Singles „I’ll Get By Without You“, „Loved Up“ und „King Of Spain“. „Soft Focus“ dokumentiert in der Mitte seiner Karriere und vereint viele Einflüsse und Genres, darunter Soft-Rock, Funk und Indie-Pop, unter dem Dach seines sanften Blicks und einer „sanften“ Ästhetik. „Soft Focus“ ist auch der Name einer fotografischen Technik, die aus einer sphärischen Abweichung des Objektivs entsteht, bei der das Bild etwas verschwommen und unscharf ist: Dieser Effekt ist sowohl schmeichelhaft als auch nachsichtig für das Motiv. The Gemäldegalerie is showcasing 60 paintings from the Museum of Western and Eastern Art in Odesa, the famous port city in the south of Ukraine that has in recent years been ravaged by war. The artworks in question were evacuated from the city before the onset of war and transferred to safety in Berlin, where they will be brought into dialogue with paintings from the collections of Berlin’s museums. The large-scale special exhibition, which follows on from a small preview presentation in the spring of 2024, is an extraordinary collaborative project funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.

Er liest Auszüge aus seinem Roman Mittelreich, bevor er am 26. Januar im Kino in der Kulturbrauerei den auf dem Roman basierenden Film ZWEI HERREN IM ANZUG vorstellt. In der Galerie werden die Bilder von Anna Mesniankina gezeigt, die bis Ende März 2025 zu sehen sind. Die Malereien zeigen Elemente aus der Natur bis hin zu abstrakten Kompositionen. Der Fall der Dichterin Dareen Tatour erregte internationale Aufmerksamkeit. Die Organisation PEN setzte sich nachdrücklich für ihre Freilassung ein. Mein bedrohliches Gedicht wird nun zum ersten Mal in deutscher Sprache präsentiert. Es ist voller Selbstermächtigung und gleichzeitig eine Reflexion über Solidarität und Kunst als Formen des Widerstands. It Turns Out It's Not You EN: It is difficult to imagine more mutually exclusive phenomena than poetry and theater. The point is in the peculiarities of poetic speech, based on the author's reading and a hostile reception. Important exceptions here are slam poetry, the author's song, and other forms of the author's living of the word in action, author, and performances, which are why they stand out in separate genres. If we are talking about avant-garde, linguistic writing, then working with it in a theatrical form is at least problematic. With the beginning of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war, for many, it turned out to be problematic both to produce poetic utterances in Russian and to read Russian-language poetry. A commonplace was a conversation about the decolonization of thinking and writing. At the same time, a year and a half of the war paradoxically, but also in the expected way, created the effect of a poetic avalanche, a real mudflow of Russian poetry. Vsevolod Lisovsky's play It Turns Out It's Not You suggests keeping silent on the texts of 2022-2023 written in Russian. The performance is accompanied by a poetic libretto composed by Polina Barskova and Konstantin Shavlovsky. We hope that such an act of performative silence will be an essential stop in the conversation about the possibilities and limits of poetic writing during the war. «Оказывается это не ты» RU: Сложно представить себе более взаимоисключающие явления, чем поэзия и театр. Дело в особенностях поэтической речи, которая построена на авторском чтении, на минус-приеме. Важными исключениям тут являются слэм-поэзия, авторская песня и прочие формы авторского проживание слова в действии, авторские перформансы, которые именно поэтому выделяются в отдельные жанры. Если же речь об авангардном, языковом письме, то работа с ним в театральной форме по меньшей мере проблематична. С началом полномасштабной российско-украинской войны для многих оказалось проблематичным как производство поэтического высказывания на русском языке, так и чтение русскоязычной поэзии. Общим местом стал разговор о деколонизации мышления и письма. При этом полтора года войны парадоксальным, но и ожидаемым образом создали эффект поэтической лавины, настоящего селевого потока русской поэзии. Спектакль Всеволода Лисовского «Оказывается это не ты» предлагает промолчать тексты 2022-2023 годов, написанные на русском. К спектаклю прилагается поэтическое либретто, составленное Полиной Барсковой и Константином Шавловским. Contemporary Worldmusic-Performance In the Brazilian candomblé cult an archetypal pantheon connects to percussion rhythms and coral singings in a unique and fascinating way. Koro contextualizes the music of candomblé with a new harmonic and sound wise environment. Samples of the original call- and response singings are placed in the center of compositions and experience the listener the spirituality of the candomblé through a musical performance supported by expressive dance and digital visual art. Dirk Häfner studierte Jazzgitarre an der Academy of Contemporary Musik Guildford/UK undan der Musikhochschule Carl Maria von Weber Dresden und absolvierte Konzertreisen nach China, Brasilien und durch Europa. Er ist Preisträger des internationalen Jazzwettbewerb Burghausen und Gewinner der goldenen Schallplatte als Gitarrist auf dem Album „Immer noch Mensch“ von Tim Bendzko. Janco Boy Bystron studierte Schlagzeug an der Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden und promovierte im Fach Musikwissenschaft. Durch die Analyse und praktische Darstellung von Mikro- und Makrostrukturen in musikalischem Rhythmus und dessen Einbettung in soziokulturelle Praktiken trägt Janco Bystron durch unterschiedlichste Publikationen zu einer detaillierten Reflexion von künstlerischer Aktivität bei. He toured with different projects in China, Brazil and througout Europe. Kunst trifft Mode! Es ist uns gelungen, den international gefeierten Modedesigner Dawid Tomaszewski für eine persönliche Führung durch seine Ausstellung „Excess in Elegance : A Decade and a Half im Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin zu gewinnen! Anlässlich der umfassenden Schenkung des polnisch-deutschen Modedesigners zeigt das Kunstgewerbemuseum Entwürfe des Designers aus den letzten 15 Jahren. Diese Zweigleisigkeit ermöglicht es ihm, seiner Fantasie in den Couture-Entwürfen freien Lauf zu lassen. Ergebnisse davon sind mit Kristallen bestickte Kleider und Hosenanzüge, ausgefallen drapierte Abendkleider und außergewöhnliche Materialmixe. Die Ausstellung nähert sich anhand der Kollektionen, Entwürfen, Accessoires, Zeichnungen und Fotografien dem Menschen und Modedesigner Dawid Tomaszewski und zeigt dabei eine Designgeschichte made in Berlin.
