„Soft Focus“ ist das neue Album von Joel Sarakula. Produziert von Sarakula selbst und zwei von Shawn Lee produzierten Tracks, enthält es zwölf neue Tracks, die auf einer breiten Palette von Einflüssen aus den goldenen Zeitaltern des Softrocks und der Disco-Ära basieren. „Soft Focus“ enthält die Singles „I’ll Get By Without You“, „Loved Up“ und „King Of Spain“. „Soft Focus“ dokumentiert in der Mitte seiner Karriere und vereint viele Einflüsse und Genres, darunter Soft-Rock, Funk und Indie-Pop, unter dem Dach seines sanften Blicks und einer „sanften“ Ästhetik. „Soft Focus“ ist auch der Name einer fotografischen Technik, die aus einer sphärischen Abweichung des Objektivs entsteht, bei der das Bild etwas verschwommen und unscharf ist: Dieser Effekt ist sowohl schmeichelhaft als auch nachsichtig für das Motiv. Es ist ein passender Titel. Als langjähriger Träger einer (Vintage-)Brille weiß Sarakula viel über sphärische Aberrationen. Vielleicht hat er die zwölft neuen Songs auf „Soft Focus“ sogar ohne Brille produziert, denn es handelt sich um abstrakte und warme Vignetten. Es ist uns gelungen, den international gefeierten Modedesigner Dawid Tomaszewski für eine persönliche Führung durch seine Ausstellung „Excess in Elegance : A Decade and a Half im Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin zu gewinnen! Anlässlich der umfassenden Schenkung des polnisch-deutschen Modedesigners zeigt das Kunstgewerbemuseum Entwürfe des Designers aus den letzten 15 Jahren. Der in Berlin ansässige Designer gründete nach Stationen bei Sonia Rykiel in Paris und Comme des Garçons in Tokio 2009 sein eigenes Label. Von Beginn an bewegte er sich mit seinen Kreationen an der Schnittstelle zwischen Couture und Kommerz. Während er für den Laufsteg aufwendig gearbeitete Couturestücke designt, bedient er mit seinen Kollektionen für QVC ein breites Publikum. Diese Zweigleisigkeit ermöglicht es ihm, seiner Fantasie in den Couture-Entwürfen freien Lauf zu lassen. Ergebnisse davon sind mit Kristallen bestickte Kleider und Hosenanzüge, ausgefallen drapierte Abendkleider und außergewöhnliche Materialmixe. Die Ausstellung nähert sich anhand der Kollektionen, Entwürfen, Accessoires, Zeichnungen und Fotografien dem Menschen und Modedesigner Dawid Tomaszewski und zeigt dabei eine Designgeschichte made in Berlin. Nik Coppin British stand-up comedian Nik Coppin has performed all over the world and developed an international following. Born and bred in London and now based on the south coast of England in the city of Brighton he has spent over 20 years becoming a global circuit comedian. In that time he has performed all over the UK and in many European countries such as Germany, Spain, Ireland, Hungary, Poland, France, Denmark and Norway. He has also done shows in the USA, Canada and frequents Southeast Asia, regularly touring in Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong, The Philippines and Japan. He has also toured multiple solo shows at the Edinburgh and Adelaide Fringe Festivals, New Zealand and Melbourne International Comedy Festivals, all over Australia and the inaugural Hollywood Fringe Festival in Los Angeles, all to critical acclaim. His confident, amiable and energetic style of comedy is quick to build rapport, as he talks about subjects as wide-ranging as human nature, his experiences in The Antipodes, Europe and Asia, his knowledge of wildlife, superheroes, current affairs and his mixed-race upbringing in North West London. His mother is English and his father is from the Caribbean island of Barbados. As well as becoming one of the most professional acts on the comedy circuit, his versatility has also made him a much sought after compere. He has the ability to adapt to a multitude of audiences and is skilful, observant and affable enough to immediately put them at ease.
