In 1909 werd architect Michiel Brinkman, bekend van onder andere de beroemde Van Nelle Fabriek, gevraagd een hoofdkantoor ontwerpen. Het Elevatorhuis, zoals het genoemd werd, verrees aan de Parklaan, midden in het welvarende Scheepvaartkwartier. Op deze plek werd het in 1915 in gebruik genomen. Op vele terreinen was zijn ontwerp voor het Elevatorhuis zeer modern. Het had centrale verwarming en een lift. Kosten noch moeite werden gespaard voor de detaillering van het gebouw. Glas-in-loodramen, ontworpen door o.a. de beroemde glaskunstenaar Jan Schouten, tonen de activiteiten van de Graan Elevator Maatschappij. Een ander met zorg uitgewerkt detail van het gebouw bevindt zich op de voorgevel. Bovenaan dit symmetrisch opgezette gevelaanzicht, prijkt een reliëf dat een zeilschip tussen indrukwekkende graanelevatoren toont, ontworpen door Bernard Richters en vervaardigd door ‘de Porceleyne Fles’ te Delft. In 2022 is het Elevatorhuis genomineerd voor de landelijke Open Monumentendag Duurzaamheidsprijs.
