It is fitting that coming to this fresh performance space (Pottery Green Performance Space) is a new project by jazz composer, and performer Mike Kenny. ‘ Blue Hues’ is a song cycle of Jazz tunes based upon the blues. Each song has a different feel, key, inspiration, and emotional weight; and yet all are woven together with the threads of a tradition that has over one hundred years of history. The blues is for everyone because everyone gets the blues. At its best, the blues lifts us out of our everyday struggles to see afresh that our pain is shared pain and our joy is shared joy. Performance will be one hour set of original jazz tunes in a concert syle setting.
