Join the Minnesota Brewery Running Series for the Wine Walk at Rustic Roots Winery in Scandia, MN on October 13, 2024. This event offers a 2-mile loop around the picturesque property of Rustic Roots Winery. Whether you choose to walk, run, or jog, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery, and at the finish line, you'll be rewarded with a glass of local wine from Rustic Roots Winery. Participants will also receive their choice of a collector's wine glass or seasonal swag item from the Brewery Running Series. The North Coast Inland Trail primarily follows a route built by the Toledo, Norwalk, and Cleveland Railroad (TN&C) from 1851-1853. The short (FREE), medium and long options of the LoST cover an 18-mile section of the NCIT (North Coast Inland Trail) through Lorain and Huron counties with a common tasty turnaround spot. Only forty-five at the time, arguably Japan’s most famous novelist of the postwar period, he had written dozens of books of essays and 40 plays, all lavishly staged, thirty-five novels, and 170 short stories, twenty-five volumes’ worth. John Nathan, Takashima Professor of Japanese Cultural Studies emeritus at UCSB, translator of Mishima’s The Sailor Who Fell From Grace with the Sea and author of Mishima, A Biography, the only biographer with whom the Mishima family has cooperated, knew Mishima professionally and personally. On the occasion of the centennial year of Mishima’s birth, Professor Nathan’s talk will combine a literary analysis of principal themes in Mishima’s vast oeuvre, his obsessions with death and beauty, and anecdotes drawn from his personal experience of the author. The NW Trail Sisters are inviting beginner and green level riders to join them for a guided ride at Sandy Ridge Trail System. This inclusive event is tailored for women and non-binary riders who enjoy exploring trails and are looking to connect with like-minded individuals. The ride, scheduled for May 17, 2024, is designed for those with basic biking skills, including knowledge of bike operations on varying terrains. Participants can expect a no-drop ride where everyone supports and encourages each other. Riders will cover up to 4 miles with 500 feet of elevation gain, navigating roots and rocks along the way. To ensure a pleasant experience, riders are encouraged to bring essential gear like a mountain bike, helmet, gloves, layers for unpredictable Oregon weather, water, and easily digestible snacks.
