RecRock is running a 5 day music project for young people aged 12-18 years old who have an interest in music. We are looking for singers, songwriters, drummers, guitarists, keyboards, anyone who wants to make friends and improve their music skills. We are focussing on digital skills as part of the project. The young people will learn how to use a sound desk, how to use digital photography and social media as well as rehearsing in bands. No experience is necessary, anyone can attend the only thing required is a can do attitude. Our courses are ideal for young people who want to improve their confidence, and perform on stage for the first time. We are particularly keen to work with people who are suffering from social isolation and want to make new friends. We will be looking at songwriting, exploring themes of mental health. In previous projects we have put on a concert and made music videos. The projects are always led by the young people on the courses, so please come with any creative ideas.
