"Splitting the green lotus, it falls like a string of pearls, a hundred streams of flying springs, a ribbon across the river's expanse. I come to visit this marvelous place, a scene as if painted in a picture." There's also a legend about the Sandie Ridge Waterfall. In ancient mythology, when the goddess Nüwa was mending the sky with five-colored stones, she carelessly caused a hole in the Milky Way, from which the galaxy's water poured down. Unable to mend the sky again, Nüwa could only look on with a sigh. With a casual flick of her jade finger, she created what is now the beautiful Sandie Ridge Waterfall.

This year, we spent more than half a month for the first time to explore the waterfall landscapes in the karst topography of Jingxi, Guangxi. Faced with the scattered waterfalls in the area, I found these three to be the most accessible and fun to play with! 1️⃣ Gulong Mountain Grand Canyon Scenic Area Pictures 1-4: 🌟 Highlight features: Hike to the bottom of the grand canyon to look up at the Gulong Great Waterfall with a drop of 128 meters, which is very easy to take popular photos of the waterfall, and you can also experience the rare cave rafting in China! 📍 Detailed address: Xinling Village, Hurun Town, Jingxi City, Baise, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. 2️⃣ Sandie Ridge Waterfall Pictures 5-7: 🌟 Highlight features: Very scenic and free! Xu Xiake once commented, 'The thunderous and inclined momentum, coming from the southwest, is something I have never seen before!' 📍 Detailed address: Three kilometers beside the intersection of G219 and G359 in Hurun Town, Jingxi City, Baise, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. 3️⃣ Tongling Grand Waterfall Pictures 8-9: 🌟 Highlight features: The largest vertical single-stage waterfall in China's lava area, with a drop of 165 meters! The last day we arranged to visit Sandie Ridge Waterfall and Ancient Dragon Mountain Canyon. Sandie Ridge really is a wild waterfall that shocked my entire family. Personally, I think the experience of visiting Sandie Ridge Waterfall is better than that of Ancient Dragon Mountain Waterfall. At Ancient Dragon Mountain Waterfall, you can only take photos like in p2 and can't get up close to feel it, whereas at Sandie Ridge Waterfall you can feel it from a very close distance. Of course, you will get completely wet at both waterfalls. 📍Travel mode: Self-driving is the most convenient. It takes about an hour from Mingshi Pastoral. If you plan to visit both, it is recommended to go to Sandie Ridge first as it is on the way, and there is a free small parking lot below the waterfall. 📍Tickets: Sandie Ridge is free of charge, while Ancient Dragon Mountain costs 218 per person including the ticket and shuttle bus if you want to go rafting. Rafting depends on personal preference. The journey to the rafting also requires a 20-minute walk on a mountain path, which is not particularly rapid. The advantage is that you can enjoy the view of the caves and the scenery inside the mountain, giving you a feeling of being in the Amazon? We did the rafting with a master who helps you paddle, which saves effort and time. After rafting, a 5-minute walk will take you to the big waterfall. p8p9 Ancient Dragon Gorge rafting landscape. ❗️Some small tips: If you don't want to waste money on tickets, just going to Sandie Ridge is enough, and you can have a great time. If you go to Ancient Dragon Mountain, you can bring some water and food because there are not many places to buy them in the scenic area. When going to see the waterfall, you need to bring a set of clothes to change into, as you will hardly get wet from rafting. If you are wearing sports shoes, they are likely to get dirty because the paths are muddy. On the left side of Sandie Ridge, you can go down where the water vapor and wind are much less, making for better photos 🥰🥰

Two viewing platforms Along the roadside, you can get off when you see the sign, and there is a turn on the road to the viewing platform, and you can see part of the terraces from a distance. Climb up along the terraces, the view is more comprehensive, you need to pass through the village. Pear trees and pomegranates are planted next to the terraces. The scenic area is not mature, there are no toilets, and there is no food and accommodation for the time being~ Goose Spring Scenic Area It is very photogenic in the morning and evening, and the details are very beautiful. The best time is 8-10 o'clock, and the play time is 1-2 hours. On-site ticket booking is 48 yuan, free before 8:00 in the morning and after 19:00. The source of the Detian Waterfall is beautiful with clear water, beautiful mountains, and a strong rural atmosphere. The water of Goose Spring never dries up all year round, the water is clear as a mirror, the surrounding mountains are like screens, and the scenery is beautiful. Enjoy lotus in May-June, and golden rice fields in September-October. A small river meanders past, 100 meters deep in the deep, clear to the bottom, the water grass sways like silk along the current, ducks swim in groups on the water surface... Tao Yuanming's "Qianmo Intercommunication, chickens and dogs hear each other". Detian Transnational Waterfall: "Waterfall on the border" The Guichun River flowing from north to south is blocked by Putang Island in the middle of the river, causing the river water to roar against the rocks and rush down. The 270-meter drop, with three twists and turns, forms a three-level waterfall, which is surging and magnificent. Quyang Lake: "Guilin on the Water" Ticket: 0 yuan, you can charter a boat to visit (about 200 yuan), another way to visit is to cycle around the lake. Drive directly to Qizhen Wharf, there is a free parking lot. It is better to go in the afternoon, and it is against the light in the morning. It's a bit like the lake version of Vietnam's Halong Bay, the high mountain reservoir of Guilin on the water. There are more than a dozen islands of various sizes, surrounded by rolling mountains, covered with lush trees reflecting the emerald-like lake surface, more than a dozen beautiful Zhuang villages, immersed in the lake, enjoying the vast smoke and waves. Jinxiu Ancient Town: "The most beautiful Zhuang ancient town on the border" When night falls, the nightlife of Jingxi begins here. Through the wind and rain bridge of the ancient town, all the way to the Mountain Song Square, performances of all sizes are gathered, Zhuang opera, bonfire, folk songs, etc., adding a different color to this small town. Gulong Mountain Grand Canyon: "One water through three gorges, one drift through three holes", you must experience drifting in Gulong Mountain! It is recommended to drift freely, take pictures wherever you drift. If you want to seek exciting gameplay, you can also experience passionate drifting, which is one of the few in China that can wear a hundred-meter waterfall and underground dark river karst cave. Tongling Grand Canyon Located in Xinling Village, Hulun Town, about 32 kilometers southeast of Jingxi County. The scenic area gathers natural and cultural landscapes such as the 118.6m high Tongling Waterfall, cave waterfall, underground dark river, canyon stream, cave spectacle, ancient stone stack, ancient hanging burial, and primitive vegetation. Transportation: It is within an hour's drive from Jingxi city area. Navigate to Tongling Grand Canyon, the road is quite easy to walk. Catering: There are many farmhouses nearby, and there are many stalls selling drinks before reaching the exit of the scenic area, but they are not open in the off-season. Adult ticket 115 yuan/person, transportation car from the exit to the entrance of the scenic area 10 yuan/person (it is recommended to take it, because it is all uphill roads, and there is nothing to see) Practical tips: Bring an umbrella, bring a raincoat, it is best not to bring frame glasses (the water mist is relatively large and it is not good for taking pictures). Wear non-slip shoes that are not easily wetted by rain. As soon as you enter the scenic area, there is a long staircase going down. There are many stairs. The ground near the cave is slippery with water. Be careful to walk slowly. Sports shoes are the best. It is best to wear long pants and short sleeves (to prevent mosquito bites). If you want to walk under the waterfall and get close to the waterfall, it is best to wear a full-body raincoat. It is useless to hold an umbrella inside.
