Things to do in Changhai (2025): Top nearby activities, popular attractions, itinerary planning, weather, accommodation, food, transportation, and more - all you need to know (updated October, 2025) | Trip.com
Epic Changhai Adventure Incoming! 🎉🌊 Just wrapped up my trip for the August Festival in 2025, traveling from Dalian to discover island vibes, fun spots, fresh seafood, and coastal sunsets.
Getting There:
Start in Dalian — a 1.5-hour drive to Pikou Port, then hop on the ferry to Changhai. The boat ride is scenic and relaxing, costs just 55 RMB, and lands you right where the island action starts. (Tip: Ferries fill up during festival season, so book ahead via trip.com and arrive early for smooth boarding.)
Must-Stay Hotels:
Lvdao Hotel (No. 148 Huanhai Road, Dachangshan Island): You’ll be smack in the heart of island life — beaches, parks, restaurants, and all the festival spots are walkable. Rooms are clean and dry (though air is a bit dry), bathrooms pass muster, and pricing is solid, especially for families. Service is super friendly and helpful! Some say rooms are a little outdated and could use a refresh, so pack some slippers and call ahead for any extras you need.
Changhai Water Happy Residence (No. 5 Yinniuwantun, Yangjiacun): Perfect for beach lovers! Newly renovated rooms, daily hot tatami mats, smart toilets, and sea views. You’re 2–5 minutes from the shore, plus local street food and reef pathways for crab hunting are right there. Electric scooter rental makes exploring a breeze. Tents available for sunrise sea-watching.
Island Pro Tips:
Rent an electric scooter if you want real freedom.
Hit Yangjia street food stalls for fresh seafood and local snacks.
Weather is dry—hydration is key!
Most places take cash or WeChat Pay.
Book hotels/ferries on trip.com for smooth reviews and best prices.
