We also had a steak, duck and a hamburger and all were very good. There was no room for dessert!”

You can borrow a kettle at the front desk. It is very convenient to boil water and make tea. Borrowing a kettle does not require any procedures. You can just put it in the room when you leave. The price is much cheaper. If you buy a Swiss Pass, you can save half the money by living in a small city. It only takes 40 minutes to take a train to Zurich.”

Rheinfelden is divided into two halves by the Rhine, with the northern part belonging to Germany and the southern part belonging to Switzerland. Although it is not popular, it is one of the oldest Zähringer family towns in Switzerland. It has wide market streets, painted facades, arcades and a Gothic town hall, showing its medieval charm. Whether you are a history lover, a nature explorer or a food and health seeker, Rheinfelden is a destination worth visiting.
🚶♀️ A slow travel experience without rushing, a Swiss tourist destination without crowds, self-driving recommended, suitable for all ages
My favorite time in Rheinfelden is not in the attractions, but in these "little daily routines":
✨ Take a walk along the Rhine in the morning, the town in the mist is like a dream
✨ Sit on the riverside terrace in the evening and drink coffee, watching the sunset slowly
🧭 Transportation Tips
📍 From Basel, take the train to Rheinfelden in about 25 minutes, and get off the train and walk to the center.
📍 In summer, you can also take a cruise from the Schifflände Pier in Basel and cruise along the Rhine
📍 Another option is self-driving
📍 It is recommended to reserve half a day to a day, and not rush the itinerary to feel the rhythm of this town.
🍽️ What to eat? The food here is not simple either!
My favorite MUNDART restaurant is right by the river. I especially recommend their Sunday Brunch!
The price of CHF 29.50 includes classic combinations such as homemade jam, homemade bread, cheese, juice and eggs. The ingredients are fresh and you can taste the care in every bite. Compared with high-end buffets, it is warmer and more lifelike.
📍Tips: Make an appointment in advance! If you have any dietary restrictions, remember to explain it when making a reservation.
