Mori Building Digital Art Museum
#japantrip Have you been to the new Mori Building Digital Art Museum: Teamlab Borderless, Teamlab in Tokyo? This fun spot just opened in February. You can easily spend 2-3 hours exploring all there is to see. Here are some tips to help you maximize your experience!
📌 Buy your tickets in advance
This attraction regularly sells out, so make sure you secure your tickets in advance by getting them online.
📌 Arrive 30 minutes before opening
The best way to beat the crowds is to get there early. It can get super crowded, so if you want a bit more space to explore the museum or are looking to get some photos without many people in them, go early.
📌 There is no map or key to follow
You might find yourself wandering back into the same room twice, or continously discovering new rooms, because there is no key or map, the rooms and hallways are also constantly changing -- makes for a very interesting experience!
📌 Use the free lockers
There are lockers at the entrance where you can leave your bags and coats. Because it’s an interactive museum you don’t want to have a bunch of things weighing you down, so leave them in the luggage room.
📌 Plan to visit the En Tea House
This fun extra was totally worth it! Some of the drinks offered (most are around 600 yen) sold out by noon, so maybe plan to go early into your visit.
📌 Download the teamLab Borderless App
Because it’s a museum without maps (or borders!), there are no fixed captions or explanations. The app will explain the artwork that is near you so that you have a better understanding of what you are viewing.
📌 Take your time – there’s no re-entry
Once you are in, you’re in, so make sure you are ready to do all of your exploring. There is no restaurant or cafe besides the En Tea House, which only serves tea and ice cream. There are also bathrooms inside.
📌 Bring the kids!
Our kids loved this place and enjoyed the interactive nature of each room. They especially enjoyed the ocean room where they had the opportunity to color a sea creature with pastel crayons and see their art on display afterward on the moving ocean wall🐟
The scenery created by light and nature was like a dream. I was impressed by the barefoot entering the water and the fish were photographed in the water. I was very satisfied, so I would like to go again.
沢山人がいましたが、チケットは時間ごとに買えるので、並んで時間がきたらすぐに入れました。一度は行ってみるべきだと思います。
