Small corner space rather than a park

It's a very small corner space opposite of Lumine and Hotel Metropolitan. I showed it to my friends and explained about the origin of 'Ikebukuro' as well as 'Seikei gakuen'.

I hadn't been there nearly four years due to Covid. As I stayed at Hotel Metropolitan, I passed by it everyday, thinking of the past history. But nobody seemed to pay attention to it.

ホテル・メトロポリタン池袋横の歩道脇にある小さな公園

　私たちが宿泊していたホテル・メトロポリタン池袋のすぐ横の歩道脇に、小さな公園がありました。それがこちらの元池袋史跡公園です。 　歩道脇に植栽がされている程度の公園なんですが、「池袋地名ゆかりの池」と書かれた大きな石碑が建っていました。

　池袋駅の西口近く、ホテルメトロポリタン横の小さな交差点に、この公園がありました。公園と言う名前ですが、ほんとに交差点わきの一角といった場所です。 　公園には、小さな滝のある池があって、池袋という地名の由来の池を表しているようです。「池袋地名ゆかりの池」と書かれた石碑と説明板もありました。
