The Cun Clan Ancestral Hall, also known as the Cun Family Ancestral Hall, is located in the ancient town of Heshun, Tengchong County, Yunnan Province. It is adjacent to the east side of the main gate at the foot of Dashi Lane, covers an area of ​​2,222 square meters, sits south to the north, faces the mountain and the dam, rises step by step, is orderly and magnificent. It is the first to be built in Heshun, with its "foreign" gate, "cow" benchmark, wide platform and rich plaques. The Cun Clan Ancestral Hall is a landmark building in the ancient town of Heshun, a symbol of the Tengchong Cun Clan, and one of the eight ancestral halls in Heshun with a long history. It is also the earliest one built among the eight ancestral halls in Heshun. The gate of the Cun Clan Ancestral Hall is different from others. The gates of other ancestral halls are all traditional eaves and brackets, and tile and wood structures. Only the gate of the Cun Clan Ancestral Hall is innovative in terms of materials and appearance, typical South Asian style, and full of foreign style. It has formed a classic work combining Chinese and foreign styles. After more than 70 years of vicissitudes, it has become a business card of the charming hometown of overseas Chinese in Heshun. Its exquisite carving skills and immortal artistic value fully reflect the outstanding talents and artistic creativity of the ancient Han working people. On the left and right sides of the upper platform outside the gate, there are stone pillars more than two meters high, which are ancient flagpoles. Compared with the flagpoles of other ancestral halls, they are very different. What is particularly striking is that the flagpoles of other families have only one square bucket, while the flagpoles of the Cun clan ancestral hall have two layers of square buckets. This is very sophisticated: in the feudal era with strict hierarchy, there are strict regulations that cannot be violated. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, the Cun family not only successively obtained 223 scholars, civil and military students, and 4 Juren, but also produced a Jinshi in the year of Guangxu Yiwei. Therefore, according to the law, it is allowed to hang two buckets, while other ancestral halls do not have this honor. The double bucket flagpole of the Cun clan ancestral hall has become "awesome". There are two platforms outside the gate, all of which are surrounded by stone railings and paved with stone slabs. In particular, the lower platform close to the main road in front of the village is semicircular and covers an area of ​​several hundred square meters. It is particularly spacious and is second to none among the eight ancestral halls. It can be called "broad". When I was a child, I went to Heshun Central Primary School. Whenever there was a school meeting, all the teachers and students gathered on the lower platform, which only occupied one wing of it, which shows how big it was.
