Easy to find, very limited dining on the square. Lots of retail stores. The fountains were nice to observe kids playing in. Several of the buildings seem to be undergoing major reconstruction.

The Place Clemenceau is a good place to orient yourself for a visit in Pau. There is a pedestrian mall off the plaza which leads to the Castle and to the Boulevard of the Pyrenees, both worth visiting...
You can park your car underground then by walk you will see most of places : the Henri IV ' castle and surroundings, St Jacques' church, Pyrenees great view and all best shopping and bars.
