It is preserved and exhibited as the remains of the Prefectural Assembly Building built in the Meiji period. Around the center of "Hakusan Park", you can reach it by going straight south on Higashibori-dori from Furumachi. The building nearly 150 years ago is modern and spirited.

It is a wooden Western-style building in a corner of Hakusan Park and is designated as a national important cultural property. It is said to be the only existing Capitol during the opening of the Meiji Prefectural Association. It was free to enter, but it was a very fulfilling exhibition. It seemed that there was a music appreciation event on the day, but due to the influence of Corona, it was a complete reservation system.

新潟県議会旧議事堂

信濃川に架かる昭和大橋の先、白山公園内にある国指定重要文化財の新潟県議会旧議事堂だった建物。建物内部の見学は無料、パネル等で歴代の県令や県知事の紹介されている。建物右側1階には往時の議場が再現されており、2階回廊の傍聴席からも議場を見る事が出来る。

旧新潟県会議事堂

1883年に建てられた、新潟県会議事堂です。明治期の洋風建築として非常に貴重な建物です。特に議場は日本の民主主義の黎明期の熱気を感じさせるような、非常に良い建築物でした。
