Beautiful Theater, a perfect blend of modern and vintage
The Riverside is an old, beautifully restored old theater with brilliant modern sound and comfortable, logical seating- by that I mean that there's not really a "bad" seat in the place. The way it's designed, you have a clear view to the stage. Restrooms are clean, modern, and able to accommodate a lot o people for larger events. Multiple bars fragment lines and waiting. Everything was extremely clean. The venue is divided into multiple levels and was built at a time when staircases weren't held to our current standards- not to say they're unsafe, but the steps are definitely steeper and narrower than would be allowed today. If you have a mobility aid or simply aren't quite as sure on your feet they do have several elevators and staff on hand to help you get where you want to go. The elevators are old but completely refurbished, and riding those was a neat experience in itself.

Always have a good time at this theater. The shows never disappoint. Yes, it's an old-fashioned theater so the seats are small, but the beautiful interior and the nostalgia factor make it all worthwhile. You feel like you're transported back in time as you wait for the show to begin. This is the way theaters used to be, so enjoy it while it's here. It's a gem. Now the parking situation is another story. Make sure you print out your parking pass if you buy one in advance and leave it on your car dashboard in the parking garage. Sometimes when you buy your ticket they don't give you this information and you only find out when you get there and see that there's no signage and no one to tell you this. We luckily heard about it from other theatergoers, so we had to go to the box office, ask them to print out the pass for us, then go all the way back to our parked car and put it on the dash. Fortunately, we had gotten there early, so we didn't miss any of the show when we finally got to our seats.
