Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto, with its thousand Torii gates
Fushimi Inari Taisha, built in the 8th century, is mainly dedicated to the Inari gods, led by Uka no Mitama. Inari is the god of agriculture and commerce, and worshippers come to pray for a good harvest, prosperous business, and safe travel. At the entrance of Fushimi Inari Taisha stands a large Torii gate donated by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1589, followed by the main shrine and other buildings. Inside the shrine, you can see various fox stone statues, as the fox is considered the messenger of the Inari god. The Ema with fox faces is a feature here.
Fushimi Inari Taisha, where Kyoto's spectacular Senbon Torii is located. On this long uphill road, there are countless large and small Torii gates and temples, stretching for several kilometers on Inari Mountain, which is very spectacular. The complex and mysterious atmosphere makes it charming. The god worshipped here is the one who blesses prosperous business and bountiful harvests. Every New Year or market day on the first day of each month, it is bustling here. The main hall and Torii gates are red, representing the color of the autumn harvest.
Tips: You will find that the Torii gates are crowded with tourists, and it is difficult to take pictures without people. In fact, if you keep walking up the mountain along the Torii gates, there will be fewer tourists. There are tens of thousands of Torii gates extending to the top of the mountain, so you need to climb for a while.
Fushimi Inari Taisha is a great place to visit during the day or at night. it is a somewhat strenuous hike should you want to make it to the top.
One of the most popular tourist attractions in Kyoto. When I went there in the evening, it was crowded with many tourists. It might be better to go early in the morning!
This feels like a different world 🗺️ in the other universe! Simply spectacular hike and marvelous experience! Definitely recommend going there!
JR Inari Station is out of the station. The clear door is attracted to the comfortable color. The steps are inexhaustible. The countless bird houses are two or three hundred altitudes. It feels far-reaching. It is halfway back. It is not willing to climb to the highest point. The new road returns. If the foot is not enough, stop.
a temple with thousands of Tori gates. it gets lesser crowd as you head further up and the gates gets bigger. tip: go early before 9am so that you don’t get any crowd in your pictures.
