Visiting Kyoto for the first time but only have one day? With so much to see and do, here's a carefully curated one-day itinerary to make the most of your time in Kyoto.
🌞 Start your day by visiting the iconic Kinkaku-ji, aka the Golden Pavilion. Marvel at the shimmering golden exterior reflected in the tranquil pond, surrounded by meticulously manicured gardens. It's a sight that will leave you in awe.
🎋 Next, head to the enchanting Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. Walk through the towering bamboo stalks, creating a serene and otherworldly atmosphere. Don't forget to explore the nearby Tenryu-ji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with its stunning Zen gardens and picturesque views.
🍱 For lunch, indulge in a traditional Japanese meal in the historic Gion district. This charming area is known for its preserved wooden machiya houses and is often frequented by geishas. Savor the flavors of Kyoto's renowned kaiseki cuisine, a multi-course meal that showcases seasonal ingredients.
⛩️ Afterward, go to the Fushimi Inari Shrine, famous for its thousands of vibrant red torii gates. Take a leisurely hike up the mountain, following the winding path through the gates, and enjoy panoramic views of Kyoto from the summit.
🌛 End your day with a visit to the serene Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Admire the stunning wooden architecture and take in the panoramic views of the city from the spacious wooden terrace. If you're lucky, catch the temple illuminated at night for a truly magical experience.
Fushimi Inari Taisha is a great place to visit during the day or at night. it is a somewhat strenuous hike should you want to make it to the top.
One of the most popular tourist attractions in Kyoto. When I went there in the evening, it was crowded with many tourists. It might be better to go early in the morning!
This feels like a different world 🗺️ in the other universe! Simply spectacular hike and marvelous experience! Definitely recommend going there!
JR Inari Station is out of the station. The clear door is attracted to the comfortable color. The steps are inexhaustible. The countless bird houses are two or three hundred altitudes. It feels far-reaching. It is halfway back. It is not willing to climb to the highest point. The new road returns. If the foot is not enough, stop.
a temple with thousands of Tori gates. it gets lesser crowd as you head further up and the gates gets bigger. tip: go early before 9am so that you don’t get any crowd in your pictures.
