Very "Weathered-Looking"
Back in 2011, I had caught a glimpse of this giant leaping carp sculpture from a tour bus window, and more than 10 years later, I finally had a chance to see it up close on the way to Meriken Park... ...
Quirky monument at the entrance to Meriken Park depicting a playful carp flipping about. Massive and made from a sort of chain mail. Well worth a photo stop, one of many lovely statues in Meriken.
As a sculpture I met on the way to Meriken Park on foot from Chinatown, it is a fish shape that seems to be moving and moving. It is said to be an art work set up in commemoration of the 120th anniversary of the opening of Kobe Port in 1987.

A huge fish! A huge fish!!! Great art work, a Kobe icon. Good idea to start a port journey by this side ...
Drole and original
A huge monument in the form of a large fish. Located near the Merikan Park. It's been there long before the terrible earthquake of Kobe.
