Abrolhos Islands

The archipelago is located 70km west of Geraldton's coastline, but unlike other tourist destinations, the islands are exclusively managed by the fisheries department. The Abrolhos Islands itself is composed of coral reef communities, and due to the existence of large areas of reefs, many historic shipwrecks have occurred here. If you fly on a sightseeing plane, tourists can witness the ruins of shipwrecks in the sea! At the same time, because the reef is shallow and untouched, it is one of the best snorkeling paradises in the world, comparable to the Great Barrier Reef. Due to the action of the Liwen Current, the water temperature is maintained at 20-22 degrees all year round, which is suitable for swimming and snorkeling at any time. Due to its unique geographical environment, the island is rich in animal and plant resources. There are various lizards, especially the animal Wallaby (Wallaby, a special kangaroo species only found on the island), white-bellied sea eagles, sea eagles and more.
