Skyway Fishing Pier State Park

My husband and I have been up here several times trying to fish. The pier is dirty, there is fishing line, lures, debris everywhere. The woman at the gate is rude. The bathrooms are always flooded. We are able to catch bait fish but the area has been overfished so we have never caught anything else. As a state park I would think that this would be kept up better. Our trip today ended with a dead battery on our car. The park ranger was kind enough to tell us to “ask someone“, which was super helpful. I had to walk outside the park and take a $40 Uber home to get our other vehicle and drive back to the pier, pay again to get in, spend 10 minutes jumping my car and returning home. This will be my last trip there . There are so many other places that are better to fish in this area. Very disappointed, especially since this is a state park.
