Lugu Village, located on the cliffs at the entrance of the Dadu River Grand Canyon in Ya'an Hanyuan County, is known as the village on the cliff. It is a Yi ethnic village composed of several hundred people. Here, the only way for villagers to communicate with the outside world is a mule track carved out of the rock face. This path is about 3 kilometers long with a vertical height of nearly 1000 meters and was completed in 2003. There is a direct train to Hanyuan from the South Railway Station, departing at 6:30 in the morning and arriving in Hanyuan at 11:30 noon, with a fare of 40 RMB per person; then take a bus from Hanyuan Bus Station to Wusihe Town and then take a taxi to the foot of Lugu Village. 2. There is a direct bus from Chengdu Shiyangchang Bus Station to Hanyuan Bus Station, with a fare of about 80 RMB per person; after arriving at Hanyuan Bus Station, you can transfer to a bus to Wusihe Town or directly charter a car to go there. 3. Self-driving: Navigate to 'Dadu River Canyon National Geological Park - Lugu Yi Village'. Travel Tips: 1. The starting point is at the Banjiu Mouth Cableway Station by the Dadu River, about 4 kilometers, round trip takes about 5 hours, and you can experience horse riding along the way 2. Banjiu Mouth Cableway Station--Lugu Village Committee, about 2 kilometers, round trip takes 1 hour; 3. Lugu Village Committee--Sky Ladder (steel ladder, wooden ladder), about 0.8 kilometers, round trip takes about 1 hour. 4. Cableway (free for local villagers), one-way 50 RMB per person, round trip 80 RMB per person, there is no road from the starting point to Banjiu Mouth Cableway Station, after climbing to the top of the mountain you must return the same way, there is a road from the cableway to the village committee, but it is almost only accessible by tricycles, occasionally a tractor appears, if you do not want to walk you can take the cableway to the opposite mountain and charter a car down the mountain, the cost is about 200 RMB. Experience Review: The village is located on the top of the cliff, and its connection to the outside world depends on the road carved out of the cliff face. Despite the inconvenience of transportation, it also brings tranquility to the village. After the rain in the early morning, you can enjoy the green mountain scenery on the opposite rock wall, listen to the singing of birds, and feel the breeze of the mountain wind. Such an experience is also a wonderful enjoyment. Journey Feelings: When you stand at the foot of the mountain and look back at the steep cliffs, you will undoubtedly feel that you have just walked down from the top of the mountain. Travel time: 3.5 hours from Chengdu Dining: There are local snacks sold by locals all the way to the destination. It's best to travel during off-peak times, preferably on weekdays, when it's less crowded and better for taking photos! Distance: 6-8km, about three hours uphill, and one and a half hours downhill. Watch out for falling rocks. tips: Be sure to protect yourself from the sun, as this area is at high altitude and the ultraviolet rays are very strong! Wear proper hiking shoes to prevent foot pain when descending the mountain! Bring a walking stick, it can save you a lot of energy!

Chengdu navigation to Gulu Village 1️⃣ Distance: About a 3-hour drive, it is recommended to set off early, otherwise you can only park on the roadside. 2️⃣ Parking: Walk forward from the starting point of the climb and you will see a parking lot🅿️ I parked for 7 hours and it cost 10 yuan. 3️⃣ Climbing: Divided into 3 stages The first stage is about 1.4km - reaching a platform with food, 🚾, and a convenience store. The second stage is about 2.8km - from the platform to the cable car platform, also with food and 🚾 The third stage is about 1.8km - an uphill asphalt road, leading directly to the canyon viewing platform. Climbing road conditions: The first and second stages are stone steps on the cliffs throughout, as long as it doesn't rain, it won't be slippery. Just go down the mountain slowly and it's ok The third stage is the kind of asphalt road that can be driven on, just uphill. It will be much better compared to the first and second stages. 4️⃣ Equipment suggestions: If possible, definitely wear quick-drying clothes as a base!!! Secondly, go light, don't wear cotton clothes or sweatshirts, the lighter the better. Otherwise, it will be a burden to carry around when you get hot. It is recommended to carry a small bag. Don't bring unnecessary things. Weekends are definitely crowded, weekdays do not guarantee fewer people. As for the attractions and check-in points not mentioned, look at the photos, the rest you still have to see for yourself 👀.

You can park your car when you see a small shop, there are designated parking spots on the side of the road (paid parking). The hiking trail is to the right of the small shop, and there are signs all the way, so you don't have to worry about getting lost. The villagers on the mountain are very friendly, and you can ask them if you have any questions. 2️⃣Hiking Distance: It takes about 2.5 hours to climb the mountain without taking photos or resting. We took about 3.5 hours because we stopped for a meal and to take some photos. There are two ways to descend the mountain: one is to take the cable car from Gulu Village to the opposite mountain, where you can hire a car to go down; the other is to return the same way you came, which takes about 1.5 hours. Points P2 to P5 are great spots for taking photos, and most of the path is a mule track, so be careful. 3️⃣Transportation and Accommodation: It is recommended to drive there by yourself. There are restaurants and accommodations on the mountain, which are owned by the villagers themselves. It is still recommended to have a full meal before starting the climb. We brought camping equipment and cooked instant noodles ourselves. 4️⃣Equipment List: Comfortable hiking shoes, backpack, two or three bottles of water, chocolate, windproof clothing, windproof hat (the wind is very strong on the mountain, so be sure to bring a hat), trekking poles, power bank. 5️⃣Precautions: Do not go on rainy days, as there may be falling rocks on the mountain. It is recommended to go on sunny or overcast days. The wind on the mountain is much stronger than at the base, so be sure to wear a hat. Be careful with your knees when descending, as it is easy to slip. If you're lucky, you might encounter mules. It's suitable for a one-day hike. If you want to visit other places nearby, there is the Jinkouhe Grand Canyon, and a two-day itinerary is also possible.

📍Liangshan Prefecture, Zhaojue County, Cliff Village 'Atulieer Village', also known as 'Cliff Village', began the construction of a steel ladder pathway in August 2016, with a total of 2556 steps. The Cliff Village in the Liangshan Mountains mentioned in the documentary 'The Infinite Road' inspired me to decide to trek it myself. 💪🌄 I decided to choose the Cliff Village in the Liangshan Mountains. Walking through the canyon, the geological features are very obvious, with geological folds visible everywhere, and severe weathering of the mountain rocks along the way, often hearing the sound of falling rocks. 🚗🏞️💨 Trekking through the Cliff Village requires the use of both hands and feet, and the vine ladder has become history. Now there is a steel ladder with 2556 steps, and it took about 3 hours to climb up the mountain. The greatness of the steel ladder construction project is astounding, and with the completion of the steel ladder, electricity, communication signals, and tap water have all been extended to the top of the village.
