Guozhuang, a miniature garden, is located on the east side of Yanggong Dike in West Lake, Hangzhou
This small and exquisite ancient garden belongs to the West Lake scenic area, but few people know about it. Compared with other scenic spots in West Lake, the whole garden is quiet and leisurely, with its own unique charm. It is the classical famous garden 'Guozhuang' in Hangzhou.
Guozhuang, also known as Fenyang Villa, was originally Songzhuang, built during the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty (1851), and was owned by Hangzhou silk merchant Song Duanfu. During the Republic of China, the garden changed hands and was owned by Guo Shilin from Fenyang, Shanxi. Time flies and things are unpredictable. Over the past century, Guozhuang has undergone changes and was almost deserted. In October 1991, it was taken over by the state. After comprehensive renovation by Hangzhou authorities, it was opened to the public as a public garden, becoming the most classical Jiangnan-style miniature garden in West Lake.
Guozhuang is located near West Lake, backed by Xishan, with mountains and water, it is a blessed place. Its east borrows 'Sudi Chunxiao', the west embraces 'Shuangfeng Chayun', the south looks at 'Nanping Youzi', and the north looks at 'Baojiao Qianying'. No wonder the former garden owner Song Duanfu recognized the 'treasure' and took it under his control. Guozhuang is not large, but it is exquisite and unique, thanks to the ingenious design of the garden owner. The garden is a typical Jiangnan front house and backyard architectural pattern, divided into 'Jingxinju' and 'Yijingtiankai' two parts. The garden is full of small bridges and flowing water, winding corridors, stacked rocks, and fragrant flowers and trees. 'Xiangxue FenChun', 'Shangxin YueMu', 'RuMu ChunFeng', 'ChengFeng YaoYue' and other garden scenes are scattered in the garden, complementing each other. Some people say that Guozhuang can be compared with the Master of the Nets Garden in Suzhou, and with the backdrop of West Lake, it may be slightly better than the Master of the Nets Garden.
Every May, a rose flower exhibition is held in the garden, which has been held for ten sessions so far. The colorful roses bloom in this sunny season, attracting many tourists to watch. The whole Guozhuang has become a sea of flowers.
The ancient and fragrant garden house is complemented by fresh flowers. Walking in Guozhuang, whether in front of the pavilion or by the pool, the eyes are full of colorful roses. In this colorful world of flowers, the body and mind are joyful, and the mood is sublimated. Although the rose is not as rich and noble as the peony, nor as fragrant as the rose, it is also 'tall and straight', colorful. Pink, red, yellow, purple, it is very beautiful. Some people even compare it to the 'queen of flowers.'
Roses, of the Rosaceae family and the Rosa genus, are also known as monthly red. It means that flowers will bloom every month and every season, and this is indeed the case. The generosity of God, the gift of nature, May is the peak season of roses, thanks to the abundant rain and dew at the turn of spring and summer. Roses are also cold-resistant and drought-resistant, and have strong adaptability. The stubborn habit has made roses a common flower species that can be seen all year round. Zhang Xin, a poet of the Ming Dynasty, depicted the rose vividly in his poem 'Rose': 'A new flower message, half belongs to the east wind and half belongs to the dust, only this flower does not tire of blooming, always occupying the four seasons of the year.'
Guozhuang was listed as a provincial cultural relics protection unit in Zhejiang Province in the late 1980s, which shows its important position in the hearts of the public in Hangzhou. It is also a model of ancient gardens in Hangzhou. I believe that more tourists will come to visit and sightsee Guozhuang in the future.
Guozhuang Scenic Area is diagonally opposite the Yanggongdi Hangzhou Flower. Recently, it happened to be the second Hangzhou Moon Season. You can play with these two attractions together, and they are also within walking distance anyway. Guozhuang is not very big, ten yuan tickets are of course not expensive, but if you see more gardens in the Jiangnan area, in fact, this place is also a can come or not, there is no special feature. Maybe northerners have never seen the garden will be more amazing, but the same Jiangnan people, you will not feel how amazing Guozhuang.
Very good, very worth it, Chunjiang Water Warm Duck Prophet, keep the cloud open to see the sun, very suitable for cycling, running, walking, the driver on the road is very polite, the air is very good, in short, everything is just right, order a cup of coffee ☕ Cozy to enjoy the long-lost sunshine ☀️
During the Chinese New Year, no one was very good. The plum blossoms in the park were very beautiful. The pink, the breeze was blowing, and the pink petals fell. It was like a fairyland. The design in the park was also very garden.
Small and exquisite, one step at a time, you can also spend 68 yuan to drink tea by the West Lake to enjoy the lake view, it is worth a visit. The door-style frame view facing the West Lake is very beautiful, many tourists take pictures, don't miss it. The lake view of the garden in the village is also a popular place for taking pictures.
I have not been to Guozhuang, I have not been to the West Lake. Guozhuang's garden design is too clever, the winding path is quiet, there is no cave, and the whole West Lake is used as my own back garden. Next to it is Quyuan Fenghe Wharf, which is very convenient.
This is a exquisite and small but super beautiful garden one step at a time. It is worth avoiding tourists to take a walk inside. You can drink tea, enjoy flowers, eat light meals, and be very suitable for travel photography.
