Coombabah Lakes Conservation Area

Surprisingly large area easily accessible via Rain Tree Glen. If you have some international guests who want to see some kangaroos and an occasional koala. Take them here for free. You can get up close with the kangaroos.

We took a bus here and walked over a kilometer from the bus stop to this area. We went in the evening around 5pm and saw many free roaming kangaroos coming out in search of food. This area also has koala bears but we were not lucky enough to spot any. Not so many tourists around. Seems like a well kept secret. Coming here and mingling with the kangaroos was the highlight of our trip to the Gold Coast. Best of all, it was FREE.

Go to dinner and listen to a place recommended by the clerk, you can see wild kangaroos and koalas. Arrived at 3 pm, there were many kangaroos eating grass on the lawn. Follow the signpost to find the koala, find the first koala under the guidance of an old lady, squat on a high branch to sleep. Later, under the guidance of other tourists, I found two, a great place to be, is a very suitable place to bring children!

We drove to this secluded spot, which was not mentioned in any tourist manual. Seeing a lot of kangaroos, only one koala was found. When we were there, park rangers were busy cleaning up the glass, which might have scared off some animals. This place is a good walking area. Prepare a good pair of sneakers. We arrived there before sunset and saw the whole area was orange.
