The Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge was originally called the Wangjiayu Yangtze River Bridge, and was later named the Hongyan Yangtze River Bridge, which was changed to its current name in 2004. In 2004, the Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge was started to be built. In 2009, the bridge was officially opened to traffic.
