Yongqing Temple

Yongqing Temple is located in Chengmai County, Hainan Province, in the tourist area of Yingbin Peninsula. It is the first phase of the "Hainan Yongqing Cultural Tourism Scenic Spot" that has been completed. It covers an area of 80 acres and is a large-scale Buddhist temple in Qiongbei. Historically, Yongqing Temple was built in the Tang Dynasty and was one of the "Eight Sceneries of Chengmai" in ancient Hainan. According to historical records, there were Li Gang, Li Guang, Hu Quan, Su Dongpo and many other worthy officials and scholars who visited the temple, making it famous all over the place, and the sound of Dharma was spread all over Qiongzhou. Hainan Yongqing Temple has been destroyed many times in wars, then rebuilt, and then destroyed in the Cultural Revolution. In 2001, Chengmai County Party Committee and County Government decided to rebuild Yongqing Temple, and on April 22, 2009, it was successfully completed and a grand ceremony was held. Yongqing Temple was dedicated to Sakyamuni Buddha, Amitabha Buddha, Medicine Buddha, Island Guanyin, Manjushri and other 42 bodhisattvas, all of which are carved from a single piece of Burmese white jade, have high artistic and cultural value, and have been highly praised by all sectors of society. Yongqing Temple was rebuilt by the sea, with blue sea and blue sky and pleasant scenery; the environment is quiet and the air is fresh. The five trees associated with Buddhism (Bodhi, Baye palm, sugar palm, Daqing, and betel nut), six flowers (frangipani, Manjusri, lotus, Huangmiangui, turmeric flower and Diyong Jinlian) and other plants are planted in the monastery , to highlight the grandeur, solemnity and tranquility of the green and Buddhist world, and achieve the realm of returning to simplicity and truth, and the unity of heaven, earth, man and Buddha.
