That year, with the help of friends like Yin Pei and Gao Shi, the governor of Shu State, Du Fu and his family finally settled down in the Thatched Cottage by the Huanhua Creek. He finally had a moment of leisure and tranquility, and could enjoy a little bit of peaceful days. He watched the clear river flowing by the village, the swallows fluttering in front of the hall, the gulls playing freely in the water, and looked at his wife and children, each with their own joy, a sense of happiness welled up. In the turbulent times of the Anshi Rebellion, having a place to live, having a wife and children to accompany, having food to eat, leisure and tranquility, what else to worry about? So 'River Village' can be said to be the best situation for the people of Guanzhong to take refuge in Shu, Du Fu should just be one of them, just a little better.
