Chaohu Han Tomb

Chaohu Museum "Han Tomb Special Museum" was built in 1997, is a local special museum, is built on the basis of the restoration and protection of the original site of the Han Tomb in Wanggang. Since its opening to the public in 2000, it has used its unique advantages to devote itself to the historical research, cultural relics protection, exhibitions, social publicity and education of Chaohu region. As an patriotic education base in Anhui Province, it is an important window to promote and display the long history and splendid culture of Chaohu region.

Chaohu three large vertical caves in the West Han Dynasty, pit and wooden tombs are one of the most important archaeological discoveries in Anhui Province in recent years. The large coffin structure in the tomb is well preserved. Three pieces of cultural relics (sets) have been unearthed in total, including copper, silver, paint, jade, stone, iron, wood, crystal, horn, pottery and other kinds of cultural relics. Some of the cultural relics unearthed are very exquisite, and most of the articles are high. The large number of lacquerware unearthed in the tomb have exquisite pattern, the variety of artifacts is also rich, for the Han Dynasty material culture research provided a number of important materials.
