No access for hours over lunch
Don't believe the opening hours. If you miss the 12pm boat, even by a minute, they won't take you on the 5 minute crossing until 2.30, even though they set off immediately to bring others back.
Magical Part of Portugal
A boat ride to get to Castelo de Almourol was absolutely fantastic! Exploration of the castle, history and surround vistas was breathtaking.
Unique Location
Very neat location, in the center of the river, with a lovely boat ride over. The castle is neat, though not extensive. The views from the top are excellent.
A small castle on a small island
In the summer it will not be difficult to get to the castle. Every 15-20 minutes there and here the boat runs. The cost of travel includes a visit to the castle. Swim minutes 5 maximum. You can get free - just pass ...
