The most magical experience of my life – swimming with mantas. We’ve had an ocean all to ourselves and 6 mantas were circling us for an hour, until we’ve had enough because we’ve swallowed half of the ocean. This was definitely a highlight of our Indonesia trip and one of my favorite travel moments ever.

Crystal Bay is a stunning beach with crystal-clear waters. It is the perfect spot for sunbathing, relaxing, swimming and snorkelling in the area. The beach’s atmosphere is absolutely peaceful, it is not a touristic destination on the island. If you love snorkelling this place is wonderful. It has great coral reefs and marine life. It is very easy to see turtles and if you are lucky enough you might see manta rays. The only drawback in Crystal Bay is that it is not well maintained, and the shore is full of garbage. It is a pity because it could be the perfect paradise. Apart from that, Crystal Bay has a few local beach bars selling snacks, drinks and Indonesian food. If you consume something from the bar you can use the chairs and tables for free which is very convenient. One of the highlights in Crystal Bay are the sunsets. I experienced stunning sunsets the evenings that I went there. There are full of colours, they are totally magical! ANGELS BILLABONG & BROKEN BEACH - ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW! When visiting Nusa Penida, you can’t miss either of these places! Mother Nature did a spectacular job right here. These two are probably the best-known spots on Nusa Penida, so be prepared, if you will go there during the day, there will be plenty of people. We went there for sunrise and there was NOBODY around. Both of these wonders you can have just for yourself until approximately 8 am. Our tip: When you are arriving, there is a man collecting the entrance fee. We would recommend to first park your bike there because that´s where Broken Beach is! Enjoy the view you will get to see and then keep going on the bike to the proper parking spots where is Angell’s Billabong. This way you can now just jump into the natural pool and soak everything that’s around you. Broken Beach is the place that leaves you speechless or maybe with one big WOW. Sheer cliffs created a bridge through which the rough ocean rushes onto an untouched beach. It looks as crazy and beautiful as it sounds! You can´t enter the beach at the bottom, but you can walk on the bridge and all around to enjoy every angle on this beauty. Angell’s Billabong is a distinctive rock formation just on the edge of a steep cliff and a powerful ocean. All together this creates the most unique nature infinity pool we have ever seen and took a dip in! If you want to attempt to have a swim inside of the Billabong, make sure you are there on low tide. Because as amazing as this place is, it’s even more dangerous, and swimming on the high tide could end up swiping you by a huge unpredictable wave into the rough Indian Ocean. 100% worth visiting. don’t miss out! the journey to nusa penida wasn’t easy but the amazing scenery made it worth the long journey. we booked a tour online and early in the morning. a chauffeur came to pick us up at the designated pick up point. then we arrived at the jetty where we will wait for our turn to board the ferry to nusa penida. we arrived at nusa penida after a 45 minutes of boat ride. the driver in nusa penida then brought us to visit the famous Kelingking beach. Kelingking means scorpion in Indonesia and it’s named after the small island’s unique shape that resembles a Scorpio. there was a long staircase along the cliff and the view along the stairs was picturesque! there are a few more attractions beside the Kelingking beach though, if you have enough stamina, recommended to walk along the long stairs to discover the neighbouring beauty! then we took another 1 hour ride to visit the Broken beach and Angel’s billabong. these two spots are definitely the highlight of the trip. the views were breathtaking! #staycation #couplestrip #awesomepic #urbanexplorer #summervacation #naturalwonders #beaches #bali #balibeach #nusapenida

Even tho the walk down the rocky stairs sometimes gets pretty hardcore, we loved it there so much! • Tree House in Nusa Penida A very random but perfect spot to capture the Thousand Island view in the background with cool Treehouse. • Thousand Islands viewpoint is another spot that you shouldn’t miss on your Nusa Penida itinerary. Easy and short enough walk down the cliff will bring you to many lookouts where you can cherish this view from. • Tembeling Beach and Forest Nature Pool A little secret spot we got recommended by locals and didn’t regret for a second that we decided to visit! When we were told about this natural pool in the middle of the jungle we didn’t expect to find a place which consists of two beaches and two natural pools just casually lying in the deepest jungle we have walked through! • Kelingking Beach The most photographed spot from Nusa Penida. Some people see the cliff shape as a whale, some people call it a T-Rex. Either way, we could spend hours on the top of the cliff looking down and trying to wrap our heads around this beauty. •Angell’s Billabong Angell’s Billabong is a distinctive rock formation just on the edge of a steep cliff and a powerful ocean.
