Start early!
Such a cool unique trail! We loved it, made it to the top with our 5&6yo. It’s tough and I’d recommend starting as early as possible but so worth it when you finish!
Not so much of a trail as a slog up a hill that you keep sliding down. The wind gets pretty wicked as you scale upward which exfoliates all exposed skin.

It was a beautiful park with great access to the sand dunes. We took our dogs and they enjoyed splashing in the stream. The welcome center was informative and the park rangers were helpful.

A very tiring experience
It does tires you, very tiring. You have to get a lot of hydrating liquid with you to visit this place.
