Great value for what we have paid for. Efficient check-in process. High quality public bath facilities with two hot hot springs (one indoor and one outdoor), one sauna and one cold water pool. Although this hotel is listed as a 3-star hotel, we would say it is much better than many 4-star hotels in many regards. The employees at the check-in desk speak decent English too.

Perfect location. Next to the bus terminal. Close to the business district so have good access to food and shipping. But parking fee is a bit expensive. It was said to be 1000 Yen but I was charged 1100 and 1400 Yen respectively.

The location is great. It takes 10 minutes to walk to Kumamoto Castle. If you are not in a hurry, you can walk to other places slowly. The room is normal and clean. It is a big hotel. There is a Kumamoto dango restaurant next to it.

the hotel is located just next to the asso station, very convenient for visistors there is no restaurants inside the hotel, but we can buy food from the market near the station and reheat / eat at the pantry of the hotel, which is a very comfortable place for eating another good thing is that there is a public onsen nearby (3 mins walk), a nice experience! also parking / renting cars is so convenient too (toyota rent a car shop is just few meters away from the hotel)

An old hot spring hotel! Experience the Japanese tatami room. When I entered the room, I saw some hair on the made bed. I reported it to the front desk and they cleaned and tidied it up quickly! Breakfast options are varied!

Located at the entrance to the new town, the Sakuramachi bus stop and tram are right in front of the hotel, and you can walk to Kumamoto Castle, making it an ideal location for a sightseeing base. There is also a convenience store nearby, so the location is excellent. The hotel was renovated in 2023 and the rooms are clean. Amenities other than toothbrushes are prepared in front of the front desk, so there is no inconvenience. However, there were no slippers prepared in my room, so I always had to move around in my shoes. (It seems that there were slippers in the rooms of other family members, but it seems that they only forgot to put them in my room.) The hotel does not have a parking lot, so I parked at the affiliated Passuto Karashimacho. The fee is 1,200 yen from 14:00 to 12:00 the next day. I thought that I would pay an additional 400 yen for the extension because I paid before 15:00 the next day, but the management office told me, ”The total is 2,800 yen, minus the affiliated fee of 1,200 yen, so it is 1,600 yen,” so I paid. But I feel like I've been deceived somehow.

Japanese hotels are so expensive on weekends that it hurts my heart! This hotel has a good location and a good price. It looks a bit old, and there are many Japanese guests staying there. The facilities are neither good nor bad. The advantage is that the location is good. It is next to the busiest commercial street in Kumamoto. There are trams to Kumamoto Castle and Suizenji Temple, which is very convenient for eating and shopping. There is also horse meat curry rice in the evening, around 9 o'clock in the evening. I have never eaten horse meat before. It's my first time trying it. It's a little sour and the meat is a little rough, but free is the king.

On the way to Aso Mountain by self-driving yesterday, there was a traffic accident in the barren mountains and wild mountains. Everyone was fine, but the car could no longer move. The car rental company arranged for a tow truck. I originally wanted to cancel the booked hotel, but the hotel actually said to pick us up🥹. As a result, the hotel took 1.5 hours to come and another 1.5 hours to go back. Originally one meal and two meals, they actually left dinner for us, very touched. In the morning of the second day, the hotel manager actually said that he could rent another car for us, and even drove us to pick up the car so that we could continue our journey. Their service is really good.

Hotels that only want to serve tour groups do not want to accommodate independent travelers. We arrived at 2:30pm and asked if we could check in half an hour early. The employee pointed out that check-in could only be done at 3pm. Then we asked if we could store our luggage, but the employee said she couldn't find our order. She was willing to look for our order only after we showed the trip.com order page. The usage hours of the private hot spring are from 3pm to 9am. We went to the front desk at 10pm to ask about the location of the private hot spring, and she directly told us ”no”. After asking again, we were allowed to enter and let us leave at 12am. Check out time was 10am. We felt very sorry that we didn't leave until 10:08am. They called us 4 times during this period and the attitude was very bad. The employees don't speak English at all, and they won't actively help solve problems. They will just reject you directly, making people feel that you shouldn't bother them, and there is no one on duty at the front desk for a long time.

Breakfast and dinner are both provided by the hotel. Dinner is served in a separate room, and breakfast is served in another public room. There is a unique menu for dinner, with staff introducing each dish. There happened to be a few people who knew Chinese when I checked in. The staff introduced it, the dishes were rich, and I was very satisfied. When you have a meal, the staff will go into the room and lay out tatami mattresses. There are no private hot spring baths, there are open-air public baths. There are only two independent indoor hot spring baths for the use of the entire hotel. There are two keys during the period. After the guests return the keys, they can then take them out and use the independent private baths. Fengli, unfortunately there is no reservation service, so I don’t know when other guests will return their keys. 

We originally booked a small double room, but upon arrival the front desk staff upgraded us to a large room for free, which we were very grateful for. The hotel's dinner is a barbecue buffet with a lot of meat and wine choices, but it is a bit smoky and could be improved. We recommend that hotels provide pick-up service from Aso Station

Like the onsen in the hotel; onsen water is good and big enough for 6-7 person to use. Japanese breakfast served by staff was quite substantial and tasty. The room that we stayed is quiet and faces mountain and park. Bathroom a little small but clean. There wasn’t any wardrobe but there were hooks on the wall and hangers were provided.

The rooms are comfortable and the four hot springs that can be used as family baths are all excellent. Dinner is very delicious, made with fresh and high-quality ingredients. Breakfast was also healthy, delicious, and plentiful. My parents highly praised both dinner and breakfast. Also, the staff welcomed us with bright and lively energy, making us feel very happy during our stay. The onigiri served for lunch was also delicious. If I go to Mt. Aso again, I will visit again. Thank you for the precious memories I had with my parents.

In the quiet mountainous area of Azu, the superior traditional hot spring hotel, it is impossible to expect direct rail or public transportation! Only suitable for self-driving travelers, go to the nearest convenience store and drive 4 minutes. The service is too good to ask for more, very kind, the waiter can communicate in simple English. Breakfast and dinner are delicious, eat in a separate room. Originally there were cows and sashimi, but because we didn't eat it, the check-in explained that the waiter worked hard to help us communicate with the chef to change to duck and sashimi. The room is very large, the TV is a large-size Sony new smart TV in recent years, Wifi is stable, you can stay in the room to soak in the hot springs, lie on the sofa to play waste and watch YouTube, not afraid of doing nothing at night. The whole hotel only has 7 rooms, so there are not many guests. The room has been soaked in separate baths, and you can use a large bath (indoor and outdoor) at night to appoint 5 separate soup houses, soaking is very cool! Next time if you have the opportunity to pass Asu to do the midway station, you will definitely come again!

The station and the hotel are about a 10-minute walk away, and the location is very convenient , hot spring baths have a variety of options, private baths are free and can be entered directly if no one is using them. Dinner is a buffet with sushi and hot pot. There are not many choices but they are all flavors that the public will like. , you can go to the nearby shopping street at night, and there are lights near the bridge. The environment is very beautiful, and other services and environment are also very good. It is worth visiting again.

The room is large, well-equipped, and has good sanitary conditions. It has a separate hot spring bathroom with very slippery hot spring water and a nice view outside the bathroom. Breakfast and dinner are served at the main hotel, and the Japanese set meals are very good. The main hotel has indoor and outdoor hot springs, and the men's outdoor hot spring allows mixed bathing. It is not far from the main hotel and there is a shuttle bus to the main hotel and Kurokawa Onsen bus stop, and the service is friendly.

We went on a family trip and stayed at Dream Dragon on the coldest day during the Spring Festival. I stayed here once more than 5 years ago and was very impressed. It is a pure Japanese style, and the dinner and breakfast are so rich that you can't help but lean on the wall. The surrounding scenery is beautiful and quiet, and the water quality of the hot spring is excellent, but remember to bring towels from the room, there are no towels in the hot spring. The snacks are delicious. The puffs and coffee shops in Kurokawa Town are very good. There are century-old shops everywhere. It is a quaint place.

There were several Chinese-speaking service staff, so there was no communication barrier. I will stay at this hotel again next time if I have the chance. It left a very good impression. Recommend. Located in a rural area, the hotel may not offer the convenience of a nearby convenience store, but it serves as an excellent retreat to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The food's presentation is visually pleasing, although its taste is somewhat ordinary. On a positive note, the hotel provides the delightful experience of both indoor and outdoor onsen facilities, which we thoroughly savored.

What a perfect service with nice and kind owners. The owner can pick you up at the bus stop for free if you want. The price of stay was cheap and reasonable and they provide you with Japanese traditional style meal with reasonable prices as well. I would recommend this Ryokan. I wish I could visit this again.

Excellent service by the staffs! Very warm and welcoming. It was raining heavily that day, but one of the staff helped to wipe down our luggage when it wasn't necessary and helped to bring it up to the room as we were too early for check-in. When we came back, the luggages were near a heater for quick drying... just a neat detail that we very much appreciated. The dinner and breakfast were one of our most delicious and memorable meals in Japan. Words are not enough to describe it! The outdoor hot spring doesn't have much a view, but it was still nice! Hope I am able to come back and enjoy the ryokan experience again!
