In the center of Faro, the capital of Portugal's Algarve region, stands an iconic historical building - the Town Arch. The Town Arch was built in the mid-18th century as a gate to the ancient city wall of Faro. It has been well preserved to this day. The arch is designed in a typical neoclassical style with a solemn and elegant shape. The top of the arch is decorated with the shield symbolizing Portugal and the royal coat of arms of King Jose I of Portugal, showing its former majesty and glory. On the walls on both sides of the arch, the exquisite reliefs are lifelike, depicting mythological stories and historical scenes, and every detail embodies the exquisite craftsmanship of the craftsmen. For centuries, Arco da Vila has witnessed the historical changes of Faro. It is not only an important barrier against foreign enemies, but also an important landmark of urban development. When night falls, soft lights illuminate the arch, giving it a dreamy veil that blends with the surrounding modern life to form a unique urban picture.Faro · 650m from downtown

Praia da Falesia is one of the representative coastal views in the area, famous for its stretching golden beaches, azure waters, and towering red and orange coastal cliffs. It extends eastward from near Albufeira to the Vilamoura area, boasting a long coastline, wide beaches, and spectacular views. The highlight here is the colorful sea cliffs. Through long-term erosion by waves and wind, the cliffs have formed rock layers in various shades of red, orange, yellow, and white, creating a striking contrast with the soft, fine sand and Atlantic waters below. Walking along the trails above the cliffs, you can enjoy views of the continuous coastline and the Atlantic Ocean from a high vantage point. It is a popular spot for sightseeing, photography, and watching the sunset. Some areas are also dotted with pine forests and Mediterranean vegetation, adding a natural touch to the beach.Olhos de Agua · 21.5km from Faro

Cape Rocais located at the western end of the Sintra Mountains in Portugal, part of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, and is the westernmost point of continental Europe. It is approx. 140 m above sea level, with steep cliffs plunging into the Atlantic Ocean. Standing on the cliff top, you can enjoy a panoramic view where the sea meets the sky. A stone cross monument stands on the edge of the cliff, inscribed in Portuguese with the famous line by the 16th-century Portuguese poet Luís de Camões: "Where the land ends and the sea begins." Not far away is an 18th-century lighthouse that guides sailors along the windy and rough Atlantic coast. Walking along the cliff-top trail, you will see the endless ocean on one side and cliffs dropping vertically into the sea on the other, with golden light covering the sea at sunset. Admiring the magnificent Atlantic seascape and the sunset glow, and visiting the stone cross monument and the historic lighthouse are the classic and popular highlights of this destination.Portugal · Sintra

Alfamais one of Lisbon's historic districts, nestled on a hill overlooking the Tagus River, tucked between São Jorge Castle and the river bend. This area survived the Great Lisbon Earthquake and still retains its medieval street layout—winding cobblestone paths and a maze of stone stairways. As you head up the slope, you'll see colorful, old-fashioned houses on both sides, their walls adorned with blue and white tiles, and balconies often draped with laundry and blooming flowers. This is the birthplace of Fado, the national music of Portugal. After nightfall, the sounds of guitars and singing drift from Fado restaurants deep within the alleys, haunting and melodic, creating anAlfamasignature nighttime experience. During the day, the old town features several viewpoints—Miradouro das Portas do Sol and Miradouro de Santa Luzia both face the Tagus River, offering panoramic views of the layered red-tiled roofs and the river in the distance; Miradouro da Graça is situated higher up and often gathers crowds waiting for the sunset in the evening. The yellow Tram 28, which winds through the steep slopes of the old town, is an iconic image of Lisbon. At the top of the old town, you can also visit historic sites such as São Jorge Castle and Lisbon Cathedral.Portugal · Lisbon

España Square

España Square in Seville is located in the tranquil and refreshing Parque de Maria Luisa in the southern part of the city. Its crescent-shaped classical architecture stands elegantly amidst lush greenery, making it a popular leisure spot among Seville's residents. It was built as the core architectural complex for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition, designed by Seville architect Aníbal González. Parque de Maria Luisa welcomed this newly constructed España Square, a crescent-shaped complex consisting of mansions, arch bridges, fountains, and pools. The signature feature of the square is the grid of colorful ceramic niches on the lower level of the arcade: over forty niches each represent a Spanish province, displaying painted tiles depicting the province's map, historical scenes, and portraits of famous figures. Many travelers make a point to find their favorite niche for a seated photo, while the arcade columns are adorned with round plaques of notable figures and coats of arms. Visitors can relax and take photos here or rent a small wooden boat to paddle on the lake, with particularly beautiful scenery at sunset. If you take a sightseeing carriage in the city, España Square is a must-visit spot. Amid the galloping wheels, you can fully enjoy the captivating scenes of the square, whether in motion or at rest.Spain · Seville

Parque de Maria Luisa

Parque de Maria Luisa is a major public green space in Seville, extending along theRio Guadalquivirand covering an area of approx. 400,000 square meters. The park was formerly the garden of the Palacio de San Telmo and was donated to the city of Seville by Infanta Maria Luisa Fernanda in 1893. Starting in 1911, French landscape designer Jean-Claude Nicolas Forestier redesigned the garden, using Moorish-style landscaping as a foundation, adding fountains, ponds, glazed tile benches, and pavilions, and planting numerous palm trees, orange trees, and Mediterranean pines to create the overall setting for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition. The semi-circular España Square on the east side of the park is the centerpiece of the exposition, designed by architect Aníbal González, and blends Renaissance, Baroque, and Neo-Mudéjar styles. The square is surrounded by a canal where visitors can rent boats to row on the water. Along the canal, the buildings feature benches made of glazed ceramic tiles, with each set representing a historical scene from a province in Spain. The three pavilions at the southern end of the park were also built for the exposition, each adopting one of three architectural styles: Gothic, Mudéjar, or Renaissance. Today, two of them have become museums: theArchaeological Museumdisplays prehistoric and Roman-era artifacts, including mosaics and sculptures unearthed from the nearby ancient ruins of Italica; while the Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions exhibits local ceramics, traditional costumes, and handicraft tools. The park is also dotted with landmarks such as the Bécquer Monument, the Lion Fountain, and the Water Lily Pond.Spain · Seville

As a seaside resort, the scenery is beyond doubt. Because it was winter when I went there, relatively speaking, there were not many people. But the warm sunshine, the sea breeze, and the view of the distance, this leisurely feeling is still very pleasant.

This is the westernmost point of the European continent, like the end of the world. I'm not introducing this place, but it's a place I've dreamed of visiting since my freshman year of college. After starting work, I waited for many years, and last December, I finally had the chance to go. The moment my ride-hailing car arrived, reaching the paradise I had longed for for so many years, I was so excited that I couldn't stop crying. This place is like a fairyland. As someone who has loved geography since childhood, of course I studied the granite sea-eroded landforms of the Atlantic Ocean.

My recent visit to Plaza España in Sevilla was an unforgettable experience, highlighting the architectural magnificence and cultural richness of this iconic Spanish landmark. Designed by Aníbal González for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, the plaza is a stunning example of Renaissance Revival architecture, with a unique blend of Moorish elements that pay homage to Spain's rich history. As I walked along the semi-circular brick building, I was captivated by the intricate ceramic tiles, known as azulejos, depicting the history and culture of each Spanish province. The craftsmanship and attention to detail in these artworks were astounding, offering a colorful mosaic of Spain's diverse regions. The bridges crossing the small canal, which reflects the beautiful façade, added to the romantic atmosphere of the plaza. The expansive central square, with its large fountain, was a vibrant gathering place for locals and tourists alike, echoing with the sounds of flamenco music and the sight of traditional dance performances. The grandeur of the Plaza España, set against the backdrop of Seville's clear blue skies, provided a picturesque setting that was both awe-inspiring and inviting.Exploring the Plaza España was not only a visual feast but also a deep dive into the cultural heart of Seville. It stood as a testament to the city's historical significance and its ongoing celebration of Andalusian culture and traditions. This visit left me with a profound appreciation for Spain's architectural beauty and its rich tapestry of history and art. visit it!
