In ancient times, people called the Yangtze River from Jiujiang to Jingkou (Zhenjiang) a section, and Wuhu is suitable for its place, so there is the name of the Zhongjiang River; also said that there are ancient Zhongjiang River, Dongtong Taihu Lake, West Current Yangtze River, Wuhu ancient land is on the banks of the Zhongjiang River, so called Wuhu Lake is the Zhongjiang River, and the Zhongjiang Tower is thus named. Early in the Eastern Jin and Southern Dynasties, the small tower at the site became a lighthouse for the night navigation of the Yangtze River and Qinglu River, and also a navigation mark for ships entering Wuhu. Value evaluation: Zhongjiang Tower was built in 60 years, spanning two generations of Ming and Qing Dynasties, and the architectural style of the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties was in one body, becoming an ancient building known around Wuhu Lake.
