The Yunnan Provincial Museum was founded in 1951 and is a comprehensive museum and a national-level museum. The new museum of Yunnan Province, as a landmark building in Kunming, is a solemn and elegant red bronze building, standing on the bank of Dianchi Lake, shining in the sunshine of the plateau. The new hall is connected to Guangfu Road in the north, Baoxiang River in the west, and a large cultural square in the east, Yunnan Grand Theatre, and Jihong Road in the south, adjacent to Guandu Ancient Town.
