Yingxian, Shanxi, has a wooden tower built by the Liao Dynasty, has stood for nearly a thousand years, compared to the underground cultural relics unearthed elsewhere, this kind of above-ground cultural relics look particularly unusual. It was a group of craftsmen not recognized by history, and at the command of the Liao king, a wooden tower with a height of 67.31 meters (20 floors high) and a diameter of 30.27 meters (7 basketball court size) was built with 100,000 wooden components. The wooden tower in Yingxian County is called the Buddha Palace Temple Shijia Tower. It is the oldest wooden tower in China and the only wooden pagoda. It was built in Qingning, Liaoning, China, in 1056, and Jin Mingchang in 6 years (1195), and it took 140 years to complete. For a variety of reasons, the wooden tower is now not allowed to visitors to visit the tower, we can only watch outside the tower. The tower is67.31 meters high, equivalent to the height of today's 20 or 30 floors, the bottom diameter is 30.27 meters, in a flat octagonal shape, the first floor facade is heavy, and the above layers are single. There are five layers and six layers, and each layer of the inner flats forms a dark layer, which actually has 9 layers. The outer corridor of the wooden tower is supported by 24 wooden pillars. At rest, each column loads 120 tons, but there is no nest in the stone foundation, and the section of the wooden pillar is directly flat on the stone foundation. Imagine a pure wood building that has survived fires, lightning strikes, soldiers, insects, and wind and rain for 1,000 years, and that is a miracle in itself. Now the millennium wooden tower faces a very serious problem it is crooked, even worse than the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The structure of this tower is complex, the components are many, the materials are many, so far, no one in China can fully understand its structure, so can not scientific repair the wooden tower. At present, what we can do is to quickly see this national treasure!
