通过央视远方的家系列纪录片，第一次知道蟳埔村。蚵壳厝和头戴花环的蟳埔女给我留下了十分深刻印象，这次得到机会来泉州专门前来蟳埔村。五月的天空太阳已经非常毒辣，位于晋江入海口的蟳埔村，岸线毫无遮挡，赶快钻入错落的民居群中以借阴影遮蔽烈日。走了两步很快在背街的小巷中发现了一座蚵壳厝，巨大的耗壳已经成为石灰岩，据说这是当年从海外返回中国用于压舱的非洲大耗的壳，而周遭的蚵壳厝一座接一座，蔚为大观。街边很多老太太，头戴簪花环，三三两两聚在一起，不是在闲谈，而是在剐海蛎肉，她们就是闻名的蟳埔女。蟳埔村不需要门票，完全开放的社区充满了烟火气，和泉州市区的景点比起没有如潮的游人，很值得慢下来体验。
