Xide Forest Review

It is a small Tibetan Buddhist monastery, hidden in the residential area next to the Xiaozhao Temple, the monastery was built at the end of the 15th century, belonging to the Gelu (Huangjiao), and is a municipal cultural relics protection unit in Lhasa.

Xide Temple is one of the four major forests in Lhasa, also known as "Side Zhacang", built in the ninth century AD, and is currently the seventh batch of key cultural and environmental protection units in the country. The temple conflict in the 1860s caused serious damage to the Xide Temple, and the temple was renovated in recent years, but it has not yet opened, and the surrounding ruins stand in a residential area.

Xidelin is one of the "Lhasa four forests", Xidelin Temple also known as Xidelin Temple and Ningyu Temple. In Lhasa city, located on Beijing East Road in the center of Lhasa, about 500 meters northwest of Jokhang Temple and about 500 meters southwest of Jokhang Temple, Xide means peace in Tibetan. It is said that this was once the palace of the hot-vibrant Buddha in Lhasa, the scale was large, and later destroyed due to the coup, and it was also damaged many times during the Cultural Revolution. Now only the ruins are left, and a unique Tibetan courtyard is formed around it.
