Wolong Temple Review

Wolong Temple originally knew not many people, in fact, it is located in the world-famous Xi'an Stele Forest Museum not far east, you can go to see it on the way. Now the incense here is still quite vigorous.

Wolong Temple is located in Xi'an Beilin District Baishulin East opened the alley west, is an earlier Buddhist monastery in Shaanxi, according to the temple monument records, was built in the Han Ling emperor period, more repairs in successive dynasties, Qing Cixi Queen Mother in Xi'an shelter, once paid for maintenance, later destroyed in the war, 1951 rebuilt the temple. Today the weather is hot, but I still brave the heat, come to see Wolong Temple, it is really extraordinary, there is a style of a thousand-year-old temple! Tingyu Pavilion, Fangyu corner, all reveal the history of this ancient Buddhist temple!

Very quite temple worth a visit.

西安城内的卧龙寺，创建于汉灵帝时(168-189年)。元朝时，卧龙寺得到重修。明朝洪武十年(1377年)再次重修。当前寺内保存下来的元、明、清石碑多通，记述了这段历史。如明洪武十年(1377年)曾立石碑，现碑仍存大雄宝殿东边，"碑石显文如花朵，故人称开花碑"。明正德十六年(1521年)、重修殿宇。清朝对卧龙寺也屡加修聋。清咸丰二年(1852年)，重兴为十方丛林，立碑记之。同治七年(1868年)，重修殿堂，立"卧龙历史碑"。1949年后，政府多次拨款修整殿宇。装修佛像，使这座佛教古刹更加巍峨壮丽，金碧辉煌。

清同治七年(1868)《卧龙寺重修碑记》载:"宋初有禅师，法名卧龙，太祖曾幸此寺与谈佛法，机缘相契，以为先兆，遂改为卧龙寺。"又据《金石萃编》一书记载，卧龙寺"崦"字碑上有太宗皇帝的赞偈。此碑系大宋熙宁(神宗)十年丁巳(1077)八月二十六日京兆府住持十方福应禅院讲经论传戒沙门惟果立石。按以上说法，太祖、太宗均曾莅寺与寺僧交往属实，但"啼"字碑之立却在宋熙宁十年住持惟果仍称福应禅院沙门之名，中间相隔百年左右。
